Re: Rumour Meite back to France?

If we get a good offer, think we should cash in on Meite.

He comes across as a streaky player who we would be selling on a high. Also question marks over whether he's technical enough for Gomes' system.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Flying over for this game, looking forward to being in the South Stand.

Only arrive in Reading around 11:30. Is there anywhere at the stadium to leave my suitcase, or am I going to have to make my own arrangements?

Re: CONFIMRED - Liam Moore

Comes across very well on his interview with the Elm Park Royals podcast. Very interesting to hear how his transfer saga went down- Brighton were interested, he agreed with those 'above' him (presumably Gourlay/Nani) that he could leave if Brighton met a certain valuation. The owners fly over and sa...

Re: Swift to Leeds

Could definitely see him flourishing under Bielsa, and he's been decent since Gomes has arrived.

But for circa £7m, I'd take that as he's just not been consistent enough for us, and it'd help let Gomes bring in players he wants.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (h) sponsored by Brian McDermott

Pepe the Horseman Leeds have been good, but getting a bit bored of the commentators gushing over every little thing they do, and the disappointment in their voices when something doesn't come off.

Hopefully they'll embarrass themselves next season like media darlings Fulham did.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h) sponsored by all or nothing

Not the end of the world, but leaves us again hoping we can get more points than Rotherham who have a harder run-in. Absolutely not comfortable enough.

Re: January Outs

I think most thought Meyler was a sensible signing at the time- we had been missing a Leigertwood destroyer midfielder, and Meyler was free, experienced and was supposed to bring a strong character to the dressing room. Not sure what went wrong, especially since it was Clement who dropped him. Just ...

Re: January Outs

Thought Bacuna put in a number of decent performances this season (hence the move I suppose!), but Rimonhota already seems just as good a player for his role after only a dozen or so starts.

Re: The League of 4

Based on any metric of squad quality- transfer fee, wages, PL appearances, international caps- this really should be no contest. Just shows how badly managed/mentally lacking this group of players have been.

Unlucky deflection off Rinomhota's heel.

Shame, we'd been applying pressure for the previous 15 mins... no shots though obviously.

Rino at RB according to the Official social media.

We should definitely be targeting a LB urgently in this window- loan or permanent.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (h) sponsored by a new hope

This + 1000 Not sure this is a particularly controversial view, tbh. Yeah its not like me saying the opposing manager today should have been OURS!!!!!! Potter wouldn't have come mid-season. Clement was basically the only man available. Unlike a month ago, when there were actually quite a few half-d...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (h) sponsored by a new hope

Elm Park Kid Yeah, maybe give the new guy more than a couple of weeks and a chance to buy his own players. . . . .

The only positive I can think of is that the owners are bound to back Gomes in the transfer market.

Re: BFTG Wigan.

Finally a BFTG I can contribute to! Blackett could have personally been at fault for two Wigan goals near the end of the first half- didn't mark Powell(?) who got a shot off from the centre of the box and forced a save from Jaakola; and left their RB with a free header. He improved second half thoug...

Re: Wigan (a)

Going to my first away game, flying into Manchester that morning.
Can't imagine there'll be a massive following, but where's the away pub? Or is it usual to just congregate at the DW Stadium away bar?
