Re: Ngel Howe on radio

Howe was saying how big a mess we are in and the only answer was to sell players. But why no mention of penalties for FFP? Am I missing something? No-one seems to be mentioning this. I can understand that it may be waived for this season but over the last 3 seasons we were way over the 39m loss. So...

Re: Finish the season, in 56 days?

2 weeks for playoffs, so 40 - 45 days for 9 games. Perfectly doable Won't need 2 weeks if played behind closed doors. Can be done with in 7 or 8 days. 1st legs Friday. 2nd legs Monday. Finals Saturday. Play all 3 finals on the same day at different stadiums. L2 at 12pm. L1 at 3pm Championship at 6pm.

Re: Finish the season, in 56 days?

Its a joke. Wimbledon and Open Golf both in July - cancelled. I just can't see how the games get played unless they make radical changes to next season Just carry the points and games played over into the new season so the Championship is decided over 83 games at the end of 2020/21. Start the new s...

Re: Finish the season, in 56 days?

Start in June and be finished end July. It’s doable but what about social distancing? The players would clearly be at risk from infection. Would need stingent testing regimes and imagine players would need to be essentially quarantined in hotels and ferried to games/training. Assume the 56 days is ...

Re: Championship group administration possible ???

Why don't they just furlough their players? Presumably clubs are scared they will lose the registration of their players. But the option is there already. Strange article Isn't the furlough capped at 2.5k per month? I've not paid massive attention to it, but if that is the case, not sure that would...

Re: Finance

Need to remember a 40m loss is not necessarily a 40m FFP loss. That should be considerably less. Can you expand on this Stranded. I don’t know the ins and outs of all of this. There is quite an extensive list of allowable losses that are not included in the calc - I don't have the full list to hand...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Thank you. But my inadequate brain tells me we will all get exposed to this at some point until herd immunity is achieved. This is not going away for a couple of years lockdown or not. If you really don't get it why not volunteer in your local hospital as a porter or cleaner? That way you might lea...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Journalist friend of mine tells me that German "Covid deaths" are much higher but appear lower because of their recording methods. in the UK if someone has underlying weaknesses (Cancer, cancer-recovery, hypertension, heart-disease, COPD etc etc) but get Covid and in the opinion of doctor...

Re: The Non - League thread

Confirmed. All football below the National League has been ended. All results of this season have been expunged. Therefore no relegation from National Leagues North and South this season and everyone will be they were this season at the start of next season whenever that actually happens. https://w...

Royals and Racers Step 5 and 6 season is over http://severnsport.co.uk/?p=13491
Steps 3 and 4 are expected to follow suit.

National League have asked the FA to assist them in cancelling the rest of the season. What this means to Barrow's chances of getting promoted is unclear.

Winston Biscuit Birmingham ask their players to take a 50% pay cut for the next 4 months

Think all Championship clubs are in the process of arranging that . Brum just the first. Players will be paid back the extra once football resumes as their salaries are protected I believe.

This reads just like a story a journalist has to write to keep employed when there is no actual football to talk about - these will only get worse the longer the shutdown continues.

grey_squirrel The mortality rate if you are not old, unfit / unhealthy or ill is practically zero.

Yes but it is not as simple aa live/die. A young healthy person can end up having their life seriously changed if they contracr it.

No-one should panic but take this shit seriously.

School closures aren't to protect the kids really, more reduce the chance of them spreading it to, say, their grandparents.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Deaths will always lag behind cases as well, as it takes quite a few days before people die. And it's inevitable that the number of actual cases is far higher than the number of reported cases, simply because many with milder symptoms won't get tested, but can still spread the disease. According to...

Wow Uk deaths jump from 11 to 21 in a single day 90,000 die every year from the Flu, but please do keep buying into the fear-mongering being peddled left and right. In the UK, 1700 died (est. 34k global deaths) n the last flu season we have records for. If more or less people end up dying from this...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

It’s potentially very messy. There remains the prospect of the games being played behind closed doors just to bring the season to a conclusion. I don’t like the idea of points being carried over to next season. The only way this season gets finished, IMO, is with games played at training grounds no...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

It`s being reported the EFL will suspend the league today. Seems to be, they will if the PL does but won't make the call themselves. Although there are a number of people at clubs stating they are unhappy at the prospect of playing. Peterborough chairman saying they do not want to go to Bolton tomo...
