Re: The squad in July

Stranded So a squad of 26 players heading off to Spain today.

Be interesting* to find out the make up of that squad.

It's nice for morale they're letting the players bring their children and partners.

Re: Fans’ takeover

Only way a fan's takeover would be possible would be if we lived within our means and accepted that we would be at a disadvantage compared to the clubs who have wealthy backers. It would also require Dai to basically just call it a day, pay off any external debts and sell up for a token amount. Per...

Re: The squad in July

I wonder if Ejaria can light up League One or if he’ll be as useless as ever. I am guessing that he must be our highest paid player now. I am prepared to give him a chance this season but he needs to bring his A game. Not sure if the club will try to cash in while he still has a year left on his co...

Re: HMRC Winding up petition/order

Applaud the hmrc. Are you having a laugh. Run by a bunch of clueless out of touch insensitive imbeciles. Introduced the mess called ir35, and during a pandemic. Ridiculous. The level of debate these days stoops lower and lower. Social media has much to answer for. Sums up the educational standard a...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

We have no capacity to carry high risk punts. Absolutely not the sort of signingwe should consider. I’m not saying we should be looking at Ibe - we shouldn’t - but it wouldn’t be high risk if it was short term contract etc We probably can afford a couple of punts - just as long as it’s on max 1 yea...

Re: Harvey Knibbs

blythspartan I remember mentioning this player a few weeks ago as my mate from Ely has seen him play for Cambridge and rates him highly.

I think he said he was a striker, which didn’t seem to fit. Was used LW from what I can see.

Re: Harvey Knibbs

From the game I saw, if I was going to sign anyone from Cambridge it would be:

Morrison
Bennett (RB)
McGrandles
Brophy
Smith

In that order.

Re: Harvey Knibbs

24 years old so not a kid anymore and should potentially be coming into his best years. Not a bad record at a troubled Cambridge from last season and I think one or two that have seen Cambridge on here spoke fairly highly of him as well. Hopefully with some better players around him we might be abl...

Re: Rumour - Theo Walcott

Apart from the fact it makes our first choice strike partnership have a combined age of 68 and leaves us extremely vulnerable to age related injury and performance issues, this is probably the best we could do as an attacking signing. It's just the chance of getting enough games out of the pair to ...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.1

Oh lord. Lets be real, we all knew it would end up going this way. Soft. All efforts should have been put into the first league game of the season, doing things at PSF's have little or no impact. I'm sure the 13 out 37 participating attendees will feel like their message has got across to the compl...

Re: Fin Stevens

But I think that's down to Holmes, McIntyre and others previous not being very good at reading the game, and/or that their positioning has been poor. Yes, having pace helps with that issue, so Mbengue can be good for that. But I'd much rather have CB's that can read the game and position themselves...

Re: Fin Stevens

Not so sure I'd be keen on him at CB as a 2, assuming we end up playing that way. Also, not saying pace isn't a nice attribute to have, but I don't think it's a necessity. Plenty of strong defences have got by previously without having much pace. I'd be more inclined to want my CB's to be able to r...

Re: Fin Stevens

Yeah just seen that after posting this. Just speculating as to whether it means he might be one to move on, he obviously signed a contract last season as well which might include some sort of relegation clause that we've seen with both Sarr and Ince. Or it could just be cover for a long-term injury...

I think we'd be lucky to get £50 from Olise.

Moore does owe us something like 7 figures in poor performance penalties. Or should do.

It's worth it if we have any more potentials like Fletcher becaus eit makes them more expensive.to poach.
