Re: MATCHWATCH : Cambridge United (a)

Inexperienced manager + inexperienced players = This. Yes and we all know this. Should have got a point and plenty of players to come back It’ll be a tough season, certainly until they get a bit more experience or tbe more experienced lads come back Exactly who are the “plenty of players to come ba...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cambridge United (a)

90 minutes spent hoofing the ball up to midget forwards playing against towering CBs. Can't think Morrison and Bennett will have many easier games than that this season. It's crazy how quickly we've defaulted back to type - or how quickly Selles has resorted to a tactic his predecessors kept trying ...

Re: Open training session

I feel sorry for Holmes. He obviously cares and has given his all. He was probably our best defender last season and two or three ago he was good at RB. And now he appears to have been unceremoniously binned by the club he loves and grew up with after a total second half shitshow, team wide, agains...

Re: BFTG Port Vale

Selles is trying to communicate his style to the whole squad. The kids, inexperienced and fearless, have taken to it fairly easily. The first team, mostly having been managed by a succession of dreadful coaches, are struggling with it and will take more time. I do think that our back line needs whol...

Re: New embargo incoming

EFL haven't even publicly addressed the new charge other than recording it on the site, so doubt it's only applicable until the end of the current embargo. More likely they'll drag us over the coals and hand down a new embargo or points deduction as it will need to be punished as a separate charge.

Re: Mark Bowen

Sympathetic to Bowen, but if seemingly the entire operation of a multi-million pound company employing nearly 400 people rests on one individual then that's a massive problem. A pub shuts if the landlord suffers a bereavement, a corner shop or fish and chip shop maybe, but a professional football cl...

Re: Rumour - Ovie Ejaria leaving

If she's done the right thing, it's out of the clubs hands. If, rather than going to the police, she's just splashed it on social media, it's a bit more of a tricky issue. If/when there's any sort of a police investigation, presumably the club will suspend him (not that anyone would notice, I guess)...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

I'd be thinking the club probably are looking to move on. Yes wages are now less of an issue, but I'd rather not have an underperforming player earning £15k a week in our squad when we could get 2/3 players who could be more impactful on that. Even if a new manager would want to use him, I'd still ...

Re: As The Dust Settles - The Sombre Thread

This might be a thread in its own right, and not to get too sombre but, if Dai wants out, how likely is it that we get Roeselare'd? The debt, the weird patchwork of different owners of different assets of the club, and new L1 status can't exactly be (that) attractive for someone with deep pockets to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (a)

Noel Hunt revealed post match he’s not at all happy with Joao who apparently called him on Thursday to say he didn’t want to be involved today. Thank god Lucas won’t be here next season. Loum, Fornah and Rahman also decided they didn’t want to play despite being fit. Could argue a stronger or more ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (a)

Quick point, our average passing accuracy over the last three games is 64% (last night was 66, and against Sunderland it was 62, which is the lowest I can remember seeing by pretty much any team). Shouldn't be, but I'm shocked by this. I get we're a lump it long ball team now, but even our short pas...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queens Park Rangers (h)

Few thoughts at random: - I really don't understand Sarr. He's massive and yet totally unprepared to put himself about. - Dann should have retired at the end of last season, if not before. - To be honest, without the Hutchinson injury, I don't think we would have even been 2-0 up. - If you absolutel...

Re: January transfer window 2023

Is Baba on a season long loan or can we offload him next month? Unless there are complicated financials I think we could send him back. We won't though, and as bad as he's been we shouldn't as we're desperately short at LB. Off topic, but saw Newport County cancelled Thierry Nevers loan yesterday a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

Pleased with the point, obviously but Ejaria is quickly transitioning from a pointless luxury to being plain pointless. His ability to cross seems to have evaporated, he doesn't pass (and when he tries to he's not very good at that either), and >80% of his runs/ambles end in the ball being lost. I d...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Kidderminster Harriers (a)

Also, on the off chance we're ever leading a game in the last 15 minutes again, THAT is how you do game management.

I hope the players were paying attention while Pauno was trying to work out where he left the number for the removals company.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Kidderminster Harriers (a)

Kidderminster are a side our U23s should be beating. Predictable Pauno ball from the start. Harriers had us worked out in the first 15 minutes and Puscas' (offside) goal was against the run of play. Our ball retention, chance creation, application and fitness are atrocious to the extent that we can ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Pure, sick poetry that Davies *clearly* sticks an arm on it in the box off the penultimate kick of the game. Feels like we're never going to get another penalty. Or win at home for that matter. That game was over, and we handed it back to Derby on a platter. We even tucked their napkin in and cut th...

Fine for Crooks to go for that ball. Absolutely not fine for him to keep going for it/leave his foot in once they were both on the deck and the ball was clearly in Southwood's hands. Clear red for me.
