Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

Give me an argument why he should stay. The "we keep sacking managers" arguement is not a positive reason. That won't change our position. . Would be a bad decision to get rid of Gomes now IMHO despite an awful start to the season - which obviously cannot be ignored. Reasons why i think h...

Re: GOMES OUT!

I'm going to disagree. On the basis of the performance against Cardiff and his international performances the transfer fee and anything less than 50k a week is an absolute steal and most of us at the time were thinking we got ourselves a bargain. Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing and his les...

Re: Worst start for many years.

In the Championship there is a very fine line between the two on any given week. Look at the Stoke and Huddersfield squads for example, are they poor on paper? Arguably not. Preston are riding high with what is a very average squad on paper as are a much changed Swansea team. The Championship isn't...

Re: BFTG Bristol

There's a subscription based coaching thing on Twitter called Coaches Voice. They released some previews a couple of weeks ago, one of which was Jose Gomes. One thing I remember (though not specifically a centre back in the penalty box demo) was for players to mark spaces when defending outside the...

Re: GOMES OUT!

If we're paying Puscas anything more than about 20k we're crazy. And it should be plenty less. That's £1m a year. Given that we paid £8m to sign him on a five-year contract, I reckon he's in a good position to demand £30k. It's a seller's market and he'd just signed a new contract with Inter Milan....

Re: GOMES OUT!

until we sack him...just like everybody else has. if Hughton is as good as everyone says, and the squad is too, then we can afford to wait a few more games. . What if he takes us down? Is this now a risk worth taking after several years of dire football and manager turnover? If we're 8 points adrif...

Re: BFTG Bristol

I suppose you're right in the sense that O'Shea should or will come in for more criticism given our defensive frailties. Although, I'm unsure of the exact extent of his responsibility and duties at this point. Anyway, in short, I don't recall OShea being hailed as the 2nd coming as either a player o...

Re: BFTG Bristol

Exactly this. Exactly nothing. When we signed O'Shea, who said he was the '2nd coming'? Name them. The signing was very unpopular and universally opposed in here. We are mostly on the same page then. Hurrah. Hurrah :P Wwhen O'Shea was announced as a coach, I don't recall much euphoria? I do recall ...

Re: BFTG Bristol

It's this belief that O'Shea must be the second coming just because years ago he played for Utd that really pisses me off He was a shit past it defender with no coaching experience before he joined us. Exactly this. Exactly nothing. When we signed O'Shea, who said he was the '2nd coming'? Name them...

NewCorkSeth I have been saying for a few weeks Pele is a poor mans Evans.

Keep hearing about Evans...who some couldn’t wait to run out of here quick enough?
Re. Pele, if he can contribute then fine, only here on a one season loan anyway.

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

The long term future of the club interests me more. exactly and that why we need to stop the rot now. I question whether the club can survive at a lower level. we have moved on since elm park but there is a cost attached. My fear about falling to a lower level is that the owners see regression desp...

Re: GOMES OUT!

Houghton comes in and this is a playoff team imho. Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

Its time we had someone who isn't new to English football and management and instead have someone with a proven track record in this country. Ainsworth as second choice. Actually, I don't think our experiences with Gomes should necessarily preclude us getting another foreign manager. (Providing he ...

Re: GOMES OUT!

I thought we were improved on Fulham and much more in the game. And there was fight. I just don't see how that compounds on what's gone before and triggers a sacking. I certainly don't think we want to be rudderless for the up coming games. Nor do we want a new manager starting in a really tough ru...

ayjaydee
Snowflake Royal Wow. What an effort from Boye.

Matched by the save unfortunately

Yep, that was a fine shot, and then a fine save.
Hoping that Boye will now kick on from here.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a) sponsored by hopeless causes

Puscas value going down by the minute A massive disappointment. Looking like a dud. yes, unfortunately Yes, he's struggling, and is likely low in confidence given the chances he's missed. (Which, can happen to strikers, esp young ones, with little experience in Champ). Still think he could come goo...
