Re: Perspective

We WERE good enough this year. We started poorly, blew our fully-winnable opening game, failed to capitalise on Portsmouth's disastrous state, were beating Forest and threw that away with a goalkeeping gaffe of monstrous proportions. Our strikers could not score in open play for how many games? We s...

Re: The State Of The Team In February 2011 & Going Forward

Good to hear from Tabby that if he gets a contract he'll sign, I think that's rarely you'd hear something as open as that. My concern is that he's too similar to Karacan and I'm not sure there's really a good reason to have both. Especially when we'll be trying (hopefully) to sign Ledge and we need...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

I would take being in a minority of two (the other one being a very successful manager) any day of the week. And I have seen so much idiocy on this board, about Long, Kebe, Bikey, Elwood to know that if my opinion was the same as majority the vociferous scapegoaters I would most certainly be an idiot.

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

Look. I don't know as much about football as McDermott. BUT I am allowed to have my opinion, as is everyone else, so why don't you stop putting my opinion, and the opinions of most of the people on this forum down, and concede that actually Harte should be dropped, McDermott might take that punt, h...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

LoyalRoyalFan Armstrong plays at left back and we win 4-1.

Harte plays and struggles against any quick winger.

And Armstrong DOESN'T get picked for the next game, or the next, or the next

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

Armstrong v Bristol City - Armstrong dealt very well with the quick City wingers, 4-1 win. Every winger Harte comes up against he struggles. No stats can prove against it. If my memory serves me right Armstrong was run ragged for at least the first half hour. Ian Harte has been run ragged for nearl...

Kitson12
I don't think either of us know more about football than McDermott

And McDermott keeps picking Harte.

But I don't think he should, doesn't mean I'm right, just what I think.

But you have already agreed McDermot knows more than you about football...

Oh, then no. I don't think either of us know more about football than McDermott.

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

Oh, I see. A man who played at the top-level for a decade or more, played in the semi-finals of the Champions League, played for his country God knows how many times is now being accused of not having a football brain? Do me a favour PLAYED , he doesn't anymore, and he's clearly not good enough, ot...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

[ Say we agree on this. WHY DOESN'T McDERMOTT DO IT? You think you or I know more about football? I didn't realise this was a competition? I have my opinions, you have yours, sometimes I'm not right, sometimes I am, sometimes you're right and sometimes you're not, you need to accept when you're not...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

For a club which prides itself on bringing cheap, low risk young players through, the signing of Harte - and tbf, Griffin, although his performance level and dependency is of a much higher standard than Harte's - always seems rather short termist. With the likes of Pearce, Karacan (for all his shor...

Re: Perspective

Random perspective contribution: A year ago today, Blackpool lost their second home game on the trot and were stuck on 40 points from 29 games. Things didn't improve much in the next two games either (1 point). Shortly later... Blackpool seem a long way up, but they could yet get dragged into the f...

Re: The State Of The Team In February 2011 & Going Forward

I'll be surprised if either of Long and Federici are with us next September let alone both of them. I still don't think either are good enough to hold down a place at a side better than ours but I'm sure Premier League managers will see them as ideal squad players for a team with survival in mind n...

Hoop Blah . Federici and Long are no different, in fact they've pretty much said as much that they'll leave given the chance.

They did? When? Where?

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

What's interesting is he totally disregards the fact that in this specific occasion, as the pictures clearly show, Harte's embarressingly acute lack of pace caused us to lose the match. THE PICTURES don't show much. They are crude. Do the pictures show whoever it was lost possession to QPR? Do the ...

Re: QPR - Back from watching on TV

Went to the game but I just watched the first half on TV. Simon Church was truly awful. He did not win a ball for 40 minutes His first completed pass (one in the half) was in the 40-something-th minute a few seconds before his shot, well hit but straight at the keeper. He managed a glancing header ...

Re: Watch this space (Thread)

It's ridiculous to compare us to QPR

They have money have spent fairly heavily in recent years
and they DON'T have the spectre of "what happens if we gamble and run up a debt"

Their owners think 100 Million is pocket money
