Re: BFTG Birmingham (A)

Old Man Andrews
The only thing that is important here is that we lost, again.
Clement has arguably lost the players ....

My point precisely
"But ain't things getting a bit desperate after that loss?
The gap opening-up between Reading / Rotherham / Millwall and Bolton / Stoke / Villa ... ?"

Re: BFTG Birmingham (A)

Yes, but apart from Swift the players always seem to want to pass backwards as first choice (do you remember one of our old players, Chris Gunter?)-it is a mindset which IMHO needs changing. It might be different if we had Beckenbauer and Bobby Moore at the back but we haven't. Clearly some team / ...

Re: BFTG Birmingham (A)

Lots of balanced / considered posts there on good and bad play / chances / fortune ... But ain't things getting a bit desperate after that loss? The gap opening-up between Reading / Rotherham / Millwall and Bolton / Stoke / Villa Looking like a season-long relegation battle without some injection of...

Re: who do you want as the new manager

A fan's favourite (with a track record, obvs) Murts / Parky for me - but that would presumably need to be next season. Shorter term availability to end of season and see how it goes from there - i'd be OK with a seasoned pro like Rednapp Can't see Coppell wanting to. Pards would, but would the fans?...

Re: List of postponed matches from over the years

[quote="John Smith"] Haha I asked this in a different thread. I think everyone is worried it's gonna get called off tomorrow like it did in '02. [unquote] Ha, yes, we were discussing this as we walked up to the game from the station yesterday. A that '02 game we had quite a few extra famil...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

we struggled to much at all until the final quarter of the game ... Our fouling played right into their hands today allowing them to control the pace of the game, taking breathers when needed and taking quick balls at the right time. [See Ref below!] Our defenders were ... easily led around by the ...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

This. What I said. Don’t really agree with the pressing. Other teams have not pressed and sat back, and actually nullified us more (Norwich and Hull imo didn’t really press up Top) Think that’s a big oversimplification In a way you play the possession style expecting the oppo to press, the aim is to...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

if you don't play a striker you're not going to score goals? Haven't seen many games this season, but what I saw seemed typical of recent stats. Couldn't work out Aluko and Barrow - too lightweight, back to goal, try to win possession under pressure, then what? Unless Beerens was there to run onto ...

AthleticoSpizz Was talking to JM whilst he cleaned his Bentley at the Morrisons jetwash today.

When questioned about the delay, he just advised me to read the posts on HNA.

 That stopped me from bemoaning yet another 3 pages of 2 + 2 = PANIC!!!!!!

Yeah, glad I stopped by HNA today, just for that.

Re: Reading Royals

melonhead can we get back to listing things the americans can do please

:-)

Yes, but this has nothing to do with "Americans" despite Johnny Fordham's tweet. That's an insult to Americans. The problem is nouveau-riche dickhead business owners who don't actually understand branding.

Re: Reading Royals

I thought that was already our name  I think for us, this is the point. Since we were never Town, or City, or United, or Academicals, or whatever, then the Royals tag has been no problem. The negative point is forcing a new brand on a club that already has one in the fans eyes. As far as I'm ...

He also seems to have a good relationship with Anton, .... Huh? Didn't seem to do BMcD any good did it? I still think Anton made his first big mistake there, but there's hope he can learn from it, I think Anton is our biggest doubt. Adkins - I share the underwhelmed opinion of his personality &...
