Re: New manager [Merged]

My vote, when Coppell walks of his own accord, would be for Peter Taylor. A good manager IMO whose teams play good football and one who I believe would be prepared to give our young up and coming young stars a chance to show what they can do. I'd rather have Tommy Burns back. Ok maybe that is going...

Re: Bit Bloody Late Now !

Article in the Times today from Russell Kempson John Madejski wears a red badge on his open-neck shirt. “No, I was not playing football or skiing,” it reads. He is tired of people asking how he broke his right ankle, which he did while walking in Kent on Easter Monday. “Trouble is, I didn’t appreci...

Re: Fans' Forum - Thursday 8th May

The way forward i to have rolling renewals - i.e. pay ten pounds and get a year's membership from that date. But that would make renewals a nightmare for a voluntary organisation, and may also not be possible under STAR's constitution. Any chance that BBCRB can record and broadcast the forum? BBC R...

Re: How much is a match ticket for a cat?

The cat has insisted on a 'get out claws' in its contract in the event that we are relegated!

The claws in question will be planted firmly in the management's groins!

Re: How much? Next year's season ticket

Just a reminder to everyone that in January & February 2006, when promotion looked like it was a near-certainty, the Football Club signed up to the "STAR Ticketing Blueprint." This was a document listing a number of principles on how we believed ticketing should be run and priced. Poi...

Re: Competition: Who can get on TV?

Ok little competition here - lets see who can get themself on TV at the end of the Derby game by crying the most, once we are relegated. Match of the Day are bound to show us all booing at the full time whistle An opportunity to star on TV?! - stand back out of JM's way and raise the empty rhetoric...

Re: Flops of the week

I thought Lita had a good game, tried hard and made a contribution. Still can't help shoot instead of pass when someone is in a better situation. Funny that, I'm convinced it was the said Lita who showed great strength to hold off one of their defenders in the area and then lay a great pass back in...

Re: Bit Bloody Late Now !

I think an accountant would probably say that it is not that easy for Madejski to detach himself from the club. He is, afterall, a Director of the business and with that come financial and legal responsibilities. As a legal director his responsibility lies with the company. In theory, if he'd allow...

Re: Nicky Shorey

I've not been on here since Saturday but if royalee, RoyalBlue and the torquay fan are berating people for booing Shorey when he took that corner I'm proud to stand up and confess that I did so, and I've never booed the team or a player before. He has been a great servant for us but in the last few...

Re: Fans' Forum - Thursday 8th May

Steve Why are we in this current mess on the pitch, is it your fault or the players? Steve What do you make of the Chairman's announcement this week that there will be major investment in the team this summer, if we stay up? Could the timing have been better? If he answers that candidly, I would wa...

floyd__streete
andrew1957 I still believe we will be in the PL this time next week.

What with your track record Andrew, this is surely the death knell to any vague chance we might have had left.

Quite! For f*cks sake Andrew, please predict that he are going to get hammered at Derby and are doomed to go down!!

Cookie
Only one Trevor Morley I like him....

Me too.

And me.

Natural and very good successor to Murty both as a player and also as captain and ambassador for the club.

Re: Will Jamie Ashdown Help?

Id like to think Jamie might still have a soft spot for little ol Reading seeing as he is likely to be the Keeper for the Pompey v Fulham game. Did Jamie leave on good terms ?? Maybe im clutching at straws here but.............. Jamie is a Reading boy isn't he? I'm sure he's got a bit of a soft spo...

Re: Nicky Shorey

Don't agree with the booing (although strangely it did appear to focus his mind a bit more) but his delivery from dead ball situations was absolutely shocking on Saturday and wasted what few promising opportunities we had. £25K a week and he can't even put a corner into the right part of the pitch, ...

Re: Last Cup final of the season

Well we are down to the last match of the season and I freely admit that I thought we would be safe by now. To be fair we would have been if we had beaten Fulham as I expected. I still think we can do it. If we win on Saturday there is a 60% chance that we will stay up as I really cannot see Pompey...

Re: Nicky Shorey

Shorey laughing at the booing wasn't very sensible. There was a slight arrogance about the way he laughed at the boos, as though he wanted to say 'i'm not having a bad game its everyone elses fault and you lot haven't got a clue'. However it seemed to give him a kick in the right direction and he s...
