Re: Not Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future

i agree but i hate the bloody double negative headline for the thread. Also one major point i think still has not been answered about Mr Mad and the future of the club.... Where has the money gone? Are we sitting on a cashpile? I dont think so. Seriously, add up all the money, including tv, gate rec...

Re: Is there a generation gap among fans?

I dont really understand his point, of course there is a generation gap, as there is at every club apart from the select handful who have been constantly succesful. Furthermore as a 27 year old i have supported Reading from when they were abject to premiership, and seen a fair range of quality playe...

Re: Wolves - Back From The Game...

Most played well, even Kebe who has not been in the best of form of late, and i thought we looked really comfortable against a team who are supposed to be a class act. In-fact it seemed easy, but i bet we bloody loose to QPR, it wouldnt be reading if we didnt! Kelly - apart from a few errors - had a...

Re: The craziest thing you,ve done to follow Reading?

Yup, got a friend to hang around in Brentford pubs to get some tickets for that oh so crucial game, had m uni final exams but once he manage to get a couple of tickets in the brentford end i purchased a return plane ticket from manchester to london on the day of the game so i could see it. it was so...

Re: Enjoy The Match campaign

This is what's wrong with the game, football was so much better in the 80's and early 90's.
yes it was great back then, bad football, racist crowds, sh*t pitches and a cage around the perimiter. Things always look better when you look back rather than forward. Having said that, bring back st...

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

apologies, it was rude of me to expect an immeditate response. And your reasons that you state are exactly what the club would argue, but in reality an account sat down when we got promoted with the idea to charge newcomers a tenner to be able to buy a ticket, and i seriously doubt that was so 'loya...

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

Honestly! The member card is about more than just customer data and making a couple of quid! It helps to give PRIORITY to the more loyal customer who turns up at more games than the casual customer. Then why was it 10 quid for out first season in the premiership when the clun knew that many ...

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

It's a processing charge though surely. £2 once for that with a card you can use again and again (if you have to pay it all) is fine. I'd argue whether the club has actually made much or anything at all from member card charges.
There wouldn't be a processing charge if they didn't make you h...

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

But his point is the expense though, he's moaning about Reading grabbing millions of pounds from customers! Well I agree he's over egg'ing the impact of the charge, but when you consider that the money the club has raked in on membership cards would probably have covered Kevin Doyle's transfer fee ...

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

no, firstly i had to pay in the first instance, im quite happy to pay again if i lost it, its my fault, but i dont see why i should have to have a bloody card to get a match ticket, its not so loyal fans get tickets first, bollocks, its about making money.

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

Stranded Neither did most people and it's £2 now.

And if there are tickets available on the day you will be sold a paper ticket.

and you may well be. but what about buying one before that, when most people are planning what to do with their weekend?

Re: Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

nonsense. You can buy a paper ticket for the away end, sure, but what do you do if you want to buy tickets now for saturday for certain people who are not members, furthermore you have to pay every time you loose or forget the card. Also i think you will find that offer only applies to season ticket...

Casual fans can't watch the royals because of club policy

Now this has bothered me for a while, but a number of my friends don't support Reading (one can't account for taste) but like football and want to come along with me occasionaly to watch Reading attempt to pass the ball. However they often don't as they do not see why they should have to become a me...
