Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

In sure Moore is attracting interest from the Prem. right age, plenty of experience and seems to be a sensible lad

Be a big shame to lose him though. Be interesting to see what figures get bandied around - surely we wouldn't consider for less than 7-8m?

Rumour - Liam Moore > Burnley

According to the Mirror as a replacement for Keane if he goes

Nothing really to back up the story though

Re: Do you have another team?

I do find the Premier League difficult to have much interest in nowadays. Likewise can't think of the last time I watched MOTD The championship is an enjoyable league to watch to be fair and last season was great. Definitely got me interested again when the season before it was just an excuse to get...

Re: Can we all agree...?

Huddersfield managed to get promoted without winning a game in the playoffs and scored one (own) goal in 330 minutes during them....don't see anyone there complaining about that Don't blame anyone at all, Stam could have gone for it a bit more but maybe the players were too tired etc Winning promoti...

Re: Other Fans Expectations Of Reading 2017/2018

Ah not so sure - if we do have a few extra quid I'd have a look at their situation there - I don't think they'd be Hogan type cost, and we are probably a little more attractive than Brentford at the moment.

Obv if they suggest silly money then look elsewhere

Re: Other Fans Expectations Of Reading 2017/2018

Brentford are my dark horses for next season ... A huge amount will be dependent on if they can keep hold of Jota and Vibe. If they can and make some good quality additions then I can see them realistically challenging for a top 6 finish. Such early doors though, there is literally no point even ta...

Re: The 2017/18 season preview/expectation and build up thread

Hopefully we've a good enough squad now that even without significant investment, which might well happen, I think we can be very competitive and top 6 We can clear out the gambles that didn't work, get a few quid for decent but not quite good enough players (Cooper, Samuel, maybe Rakels) and hopefu...

Re: BFTG - Wembley

Basically they got fed a load of nonsense by their manager and the local media about how fantastic they were - and they really weren't. Very predictable and Cairney for example was well below the standards set by the likes of Williams and Mooy in the play offs Think they thought that gave them a god...

Re: Now starts the re-build

If Possible move on the following Quinn Gravenberch Dennis Weiser Meite (Loan) Harriot Mendes (So what if he had a couple of good games) Cooper Replace 4 or 5 of better quality and we're away. Wouldn't be particularly upset if that lot left. Seen enough of Rakels and Mendes to think they are worth ...

Re: The positive - "make me feel better" thread

The champ is definitely more entertaining, and the Saturday/Tuesday schedule is much better than the all over the place PL kick offs Would have loved to have gone up - but which season do you think Middlesborough for example enjoyed more - last years desperate dirge or the promotion season the year ...

Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

I did think the write up was better than usual and was a bit surprised to see his name at the top

Presuming it's a one off as GR felt the need to get as good a coverage as possible on such a big game

Re: Huddersfield fan here

Good luck to them. Decent club, decent fans, very good manager and some handy players They've a ton of work to do this summer - obviously they were reliant on loans and players with very limited to division experience in any country. They'll need to make some very good signings quickly and integrate...

Re: Now starts the re-build

Our defence will be excellent next season - I'm sure of it. Moore, Ilori and Blackett if we go back 5 will be better than any defence in the division. Obita needs to stay fit and Gunter needs to be a bit braver - but I don't think we'll concede many at all. We prob do need an experience midfielder t...

Re: Back From The Season - End of Season Thread

Brilliant season, massively surpassed expectations Key now is obviously keeping Stam and reacting the right way to that play off defeat He has put in place a potentially top class back 5 - Gunter, Ilori, Moore, Blackett and Obita - that will be as good as any in the division next year. AAH is a dece...

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

Brilliant in the second half of the season and our player of the play offs by an absolute mile

Met the chap myself a while back and he is decent guy - very friendly. Seemed to hurt him more than anyone that defeat and I suspect he would have loved to have stayed if we had gone up

Good luck to him

Re: BFTG - Wembley

Very frustrating to get so close but we shouldn't have let it go to pens. I agree Huddersfield looked shattered in ET and the excellent Moore, Blackett and Ilori should have been trusted as a back 3 and pushed Obita and Gunter into wingers rather than worry about defending. Thought Stam was very clo...

They were maybe very slightly better. Very little in it, and neither keeper barely made a save. Neither team really 'deserved' to win

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

Frustrating end to the season but at least I don't feel like we were robbed or anything We weren't great, neither were Huddersfield. Pretty dull game and both teams cancelled each other out. Rightfully not confident with our penalties, felt Stam was too defensive in ET knowing we are rubbish at them...
