End of August transfer deadline news

End of January transfer deadline news........

That's 4 players out and 1 in.
14 months ago SC stated the squad was too small and since then it's got smaller
The Bolton game was a wake up call in terms of strength in depth so was today good business ?

Help me out with this one because there's 16 Premiership games before it can be rectified.
Discuss please

We are not ready for Europe, we can't just sign a bunch of players as it will disrupt the squad.

Losing Sodje, Cox and Stack hardly counts as losing much strength in depth! I'm disappointed to lose Seol, but optimistic that Rosenior will develop well in our coaching set-up.

The other three can presumably all be recalled anyway?

Parking is still going to be a problem, even with 3 extra spaces.

Depends on the deal, but nowadays not always

It's not the quality of players who we lost, it's who we haven't brought in that bothers me. Liam yes fine but who plays right wing on Saturday for instance

Don't think so - they are half-season loans, not short-term (up to 3 months)

A recall might be possible only with the agreement of BOTH parties.

Goalies are also a special case.

So what your saying is Cisse straight replacement for Sidwell, Fae played one Prem game on right wing mostly and out of sorts on losing 3-0 team and Rosenior never played for Reading and everythings fine......... no fooking problem then

LOL at Tamworth Royal for replying so much to his own thread!

Yes we may have lost some players but these players are squad players obviously not in the immediatee plans of God, had they been then they would not have been loaned out. I would imagine that the loan deals have some 24 hour recall clauses in and should they be needed at short notice then they will come back, not only will they come back but they will come back with first team (at whatever level) experience.

The club have always insisted that should the right player come along for the right price then they will do business. I am as frustrated as anyone on this board that we have not been more 'active' in the transfer market but that's the way it is. As someone said on here last week, real life is not like Champ Manager!

Viva la Coppell!

I haven;t a clue whether we are better off, I'll come backin January and tell you !

We've lost 1 or 2 players who were first teamers and added 3 who should challenge but we cannot know about yet.

We may have some youngsters who will be given the chance to move up - Henry now looks to inherit the role of under study right winger.

We'll only know when we get the players on the pitch, but as it seems a large % of Nobbers would prefer us to be playing in the Championship it hardly matters whether the squad is good enough for the Prem !!

Am I right in thinking we can still make loan signings in the meantime?
