Said a lot of the crowd were chanting Alex McCarthy, which isn't going to help Feds - but he's got to pull himself together. I wonder if we'll put Mariappa on this half?

Who knows. Maybe something in his personal life has affected Federici. From what people are reporting, it does sound like he's lost a bit of confidence. Hope he bounces back soon.

Sebastian Let's hope Feds gets his confidence/concentration back soon

It's strange. Last year he was immense, it was the year before where he was suspect with his "star-jump" saves or letting in long shots. Wonder if the Taylor signing has affected/unsettled him.

I've often thought that opposition managers tell their teams to target him with long shots.

To be fair, there seem to have been a lot of goalkeeping errors early on this season, especially from long shots. In the Prem anyway. The amount the ball swerves these days you might as well have a pot-shot, goalkeepers can never really gather them as cleanly as before.

Sebastian
Stuboo Mad game! Envy those watching it live tonight.

One of the maddest games I ever saw was Bristol City v Reading in March 2002. 6 goals in the first 15 minutes.

So mad it killed the Queen Mum. RIP.

Sebastian I once participated in an 11-8

I was 9. I was in goal for the victors.

I was a shit goalie.

Aside from a 15-0 (lolz at St Catz 3rds), only a 7-3 and a 5-5 (with 10 minutes of extra time).

11-8 would be kerazy.

Sebastian There's chat every year about the lightest, roundest ball ever and the amount of swerve it creates. Surely keepers can't be that surprised when the ball moves. Besides, Feds mistakes have been straight at him, with no discernible swerve (at least none that I've seen).

This years ball has no different modifications to last years, the only difference is the design of the outer.

LOL.

At the other end of the scale, I played a 5-a-side game which ended 2-2.

Ball spent a lot of time in the carpark.

Have the Sicilians finally caught up with him?
Has he fallen down another open manhole?

Royal Lady Schards just rang with his half time report - Feds defo at fault for both. Front players look immense - Pog, McCleary, Guthrie - defence is woeful. Said a lot of the crowd were chanting Alex McCarthy, which isn't going to help Feds -

Exactly. Won't be the first time that our 'supporters' have completely destroyed the confidence of one of our keepers. Still cringe at the stick Howie got at Wycombe away - led to him being substituted at half-time.

Sebastian
If you can't hold irrational grudges and set out to completely destroy the psyche of someone who earns much, much more than you, then there is no point in being a football fan.

What a sad indictment of the modern football fan.
