Solid defender, no complaints on that performance.

I'd be considering when to give Pearce and him a chance together after last night.

...but Gorkss had to go and score. How did he look? Better than at WBA?

Both very solid to be honest aside from the goals - allowed Hoilett to run unchallenged then just failed to put the block in on Cisse. Otherwise they dealt very well with the obvious pace of Hoilett, Cisse and Park. Mariappa's pace could prove valuable in time against the quicker sides.

I was impressed. The positional side of things should hopefully come with more game time. But he looked strong, quick and confident. I particularly liked the way he beat his man to the ball on a number of occasions when QPR tried to play the ball in the centre forward's feet.

Think in the long term him & Pearce could be an excellent partnership

^^this
I also liked how comfortable he appeared taking responsibility for directing our defence.

Generally pretty good. Thought there were a couple of shaky moments, inc. the first goal, but then again it was his first game in a while.

To sum up, I'm happy with Pearce-Gorkss atm, but we have a decent replacement to come in when required.

I'd have him next to Pearce on Saturday. Strong, quick and looks as assured as Gorkss at this level.

I hope Mariappa gets more chances but the slagging off of Gorkks is totally pathetic......................................take Fed's fcuk ups out of the equation and our central defence is probably the strongest part of the team so far. If it's pace you are worried about why not drop Pearce? It's not like he can use age as an excuse :|

That is superb news, seeing as Harte is not firing on all cylinders at the moment.

They've only gone and rated him better than Pearce and Gorkss in Fifa 13... :?
