FA cup Fifth Round draw

by Lovely hot donuts! » 27 Jan 2013 10:15

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article ... 21007.aspx
(the time of the draw in this article is wrong. It's after Oldham v Liverpool which doesn't kick off till 4)

Time for another "who do you want?" thread before we get something else bitterly disappointing.

I suppose get MK Dons home or away would be good because I believe we haven't played a competitive match against them before (since they moved to Milton Keynes anyway).

The only other good away trip might be Luton perhaps.

To be honest there isn't much that get me excited, avoiding the other Premiership teams would be nice.

Ideally a home tie and missing the premier league big boys.

Wouldn't mind an away at Luton or Barnsley.

Home tie against lower league opposition please. Does anyone know how many Prem teams are left now?

Teams I would like:

1 Luton Town
2 Oldham
4 Blackburn Rovers
5 Barnsley
6 Middlesbrough
7 Millwall
8 Leeds United
12 Brentford
14 Huddersfield Town or Leicester City
15 Milton Keynes Dons

Teams I would not like:

2 Liverpool
3 Wigan Athletic
8 Tottenham Hotspur
9 Arsenal
10 Manchester City
11 Manchester United
12 Chelsea
16 Everton

I've never really been one for the "glamour tie". Why would you want to draw a Man Utd in the 3rd round when you could get to the 5th round playing lower league teams and then inevitably draw a big club eventually... we might as well get as far as we can before having to play a big club!

And now we're in the premier league, we play the "big clubs" every week anyway!

Home ties against Luton or Barnsley would do wonderfully.

Can think of nothing worse than Wigan away.

Only 5 Prem teams, other than RFC, definitely through though that will probably be 8 by the time of the draw. A home tie for us against a non Prem team and a couple of all Prem ties and, all of a sudden, we are in with a chance.

Of getting to the Quarter Finals 8)

Balls - all the big guns still in. Please make it that they all draw each other this afternoon and at least 3 are wiped out!

If the 8 draw each other its guaranteed that exactly 4 will then be wiped out

Except Leeds. Would like our players to remain intact for the run in. Dirty b@stards.

That's like saying if I get 6 numbers on the lottery I am guaranteed the jackpot!

Simon's Church Blackburn or Oldham away.

This. Two new grounds for me, both within 40 minutes travelling time. Though I'd also take any of the following:

Huddersfield
Barnsley
Middlesbrough
Wigan

It's about a 25% chance of a team ranked lower than us at home (assuming all the big boys win today).

Fingers crossed.

Ideal = Barnsley at home.
Worst = Arsenal away.
