U.21's v Basingstoke Town FC Sat 13th July

by BTFC » 10 Jul 2013 09:49

With your first team now playing behind closed doors this Saturday don't miss the chance to see some football action locally with the Royals development squad playing just down the road here at Basingstoke Town FC.

If you don't already know here is where you'll find us;

We are managed by ex Royal Jason Bristow and his assistant is non other than Reading legend Michael Gilkes.

We've a nice big clubhouse for refreshments and we've even laid on some decent weather for you. Hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Me and the boy will probably go, just to get away from the wife if anything.

Decent ground the Camrose, went there for Steve Richardson's testimonial. Bit of a trek from the station though...taxi it.

MIchael Gilkes is there? When did he leave Hungerford? That should be enough to tempt a couple of thousand Reading fans on to your gate, but unfortunately most of our fans these days probably haven't heard of him, here-and-now obsessed gimps that they are.

The RFC development squad were hammered last year by Basingstoke but won at the Camrose 1-0. RFC were the better team more pace, more quality and technically better players. Stoke could be in for a tough season based on their performance yesterday.
