Man U 1-1 Reading with about 20 mins left

House scored for Reading in first half! ManU equalised about 5 mins ago.

Callum Harriott played 60 minutes.

I know. Maybe on the bench for Norwich. Our youngsters did really well tonight and were unlucky not to force the win.

For those that regularly watch the U21/3s, does Danny Loader stand out every game as being the best in the pitch for Reading? My guess would be that if he isn’t doing that then he isn’t going to make the first team any time soon.

He's just won August's best player of the league ffs.
And then scored 2 goals for England U19s, grabbing headlines whilst playing with Jadon Sancho (two assists for Dortmund last night) and Phil Foden (game time at Man City).

But yeah, he really needs to do more to break in to this Reading team...

He's stood out every time I've seen any of the Unders recently.

Not likely to get a lot of game time up top with the first team soon though given we've just signed 2 strikers and brought back a third from a decent loan spell. Maybe more out of position on the wing?

Saw him against Sunderland a few weeks ago and it probably wasn't his best game. Played a slightly withdrawn role behind House and won a penalty but didn't really dominate the game like you would expect a player pushing for a first team place would.

Having said that he's surely worth a go given our current state. Imo it would be better for him to play in a home match in more familiar surroundings rather than an away game. So if the new strikers fail to fire again today I'd give him a chance, at least from the bench, against Norwich.

Perhaps we should all turn up to watch them and not bother about the first team.

The first team can only dream of getting a 0-0 at home though.

Well yeah but let’s not judge the poor lads by our dismal first 11 standard

Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again.

With signing 2 strikers this summer, Bod playing and scoring and 2 more coming through the ranks in the academy but its not the worst scenario to be in TBH.

its a weird one really - but agree we'll prob sell him to a Dutch club for a couple of million in the summer

Would think we'd be crying out to keep a young striker who has come (albeit at a late stage) through our youth set up
