In the squad for Tuesday at Bracknell I would have thought.

Not a bad 1st half at Villa today. 3-3 HT. Barrett (pen) Loader and House.

Another goal from Loader, he`s on fire. 4-3, this was after being 3-1 down.

Villa equalise 83rd minute. then we nick it 4 minutes into added time, House receives a beautiful through ball rounds the keeper and scores.

FT 5-4.

So 2 for both House and Loader

Would be happy to see either or both getting game time in the first 11 with Bod and maybe Meite out

Loader wouldn’t be a replacement for Bod/Meite, he’s a completely different type of player. In our current side he’d do the job Baldock does (or maybe Swift when he’s pushed forward.
House is a worker but whether he’s got the strength or guile to play against a Championship centre back I’m not sure. World of difference competing against other teenagers to 30 year old experienced defenders.
Shame we don’t have Novakovic, would certainly see him as worth using.

It would be nice if we could get to a position of safety with a few games left to try out Loader and House in the first team. Probably wishful thinking though.

Yeah realise they are different types of players - but we’d have to change the system a little.

Did wonder if Bod is out for 3-4 months if Nova would be recalled in January

That is the best scenario I can think of with Bod out. If much rather have that than a (probably expensive) dip into the transfer market. We've proven ourselves to be far too hit and miss with forward signings.

If Meite is out then Loader will surely come into the squad for Ipswich. I like Baldock but don’t see him as a centre forward. If McNulty comes into the starting line up to replace Meite then we will really lack height upfront. We will certainly have to play a different type of game and perhaps through the middle instead of out wide.

Agree about bringing back Novakovich in January If Bodvarsson is out for a few months.
Sad to see Sam Smith not having an impact at Oxford.

Did we not play Smith a couple of times last season despite impending doom?

When we didn't have any strikers. We had an injured Bod and past it Kermie and that was basically it. We played Beerens up front ffs.

McCleary played striker sometimes for Forest if I remember.

He scored four goals in one game!

Well as long as he doesn't come back here for treatment he should be fine.

Smith is so all round average it hurts though tbf, think House has a bit more guile about him and will end up being the better player of those two, but isn't close to ready for the first team yet.
