KC Royal
Royals and Racers U23`s at home today KO 1pm at the Madejski stadium against Man Utd in a premier league 2 div 2 match

Guessing this will be streamed? May try to watch some of it.

Yeah, noticed that after catching up with the updates. Wasn't able to see it in the end, but certainly 2nd half it didn't appear as though I missed much other than Man Utd scoring the only goal of the game.

Was a little disappointed to be honest. Both sides better defensively than going forward. Goal was a pen out of nothing really. Very little in the way of creativity by either side, esp Man U

House looks pretty good (no way is he is 5ft 9 whoever said that), if a little limited. Midfield tidy enough. Harriott looked half decent, though end product not great. Popa poor and will be gone in 2 weeks time

Keeper looked good and exceptional for a 15 year old. His distribution is top class - pinging the ball about like a sweeper

Barrett couple of nice touches but overall quite poor. Think it’s prob time to cut our losses there

0-1(pen)
Bit unlucky. Keeper looked very good, places kicks better than Jaakkola.
Our finishing was a bit soft, considering some great crosses.

Prolly deserved a draw on balance, but lacked cutting edge in last 10-15 mins when we didn't really look like scoring (Utd are no mugs, obv).
Yeah, the keeper looks to have a future, his kicking will suit modern game.

They've both been in the first team a little while longer, but yeah it will have some impact.

We played ok - just seemed to lack a bit of attacking spark

Nobody screamed out as being ready for the first 11. Richards looked solid enough though

Also had some real young lads in there with the keeper and Pendlebury

Suspect if McIntyreand Osho had played today we’d have benefitted, although it’s incredible how much strength in depth we have at centre back currently.

Novakovich marked his return from injury with an assist for Fortuna on the weekend. He played really well too!

His development has been quite astonishing and he really is the sort of player we need. He's a threat on the ground, in the air, he can hold up play, take people on and is tactically very aware.

I was annoyed for a second, because the Madejski is harder for me to get to after work than Woking, but then I remembered I couldn't go anyway, phew.

It should be a decent game. Sparta Prague weren’t that great i thought in the 2-2 draw but i’m not sure how they managed to lose 8-0 to Feyenoord. Surely Feyenoord are not that good ? I suppose we will find out tomorrow !!

Cant believe he was only 15, pulled off a brilliant stop in the first half.

See Axel Anderson has moved on permanently

Same day as he got called up to the Iceland first team from the look of it

Good luck to the lad - tbh didn’t think he was quite good enough from the few times I saw him

Really surprised we have let him go as I thought from what I have seen of him that he might be the best of the Academy CBs but clearly the club must see him further down the pecking order. I wish him well.

I think he was certainly behind McIntyre and Osho, and Holmes is a couple of years younger so has a bit of time to develop/ fill out.
We’re very well off for young centre backs so if we’ve made a bit of money and he has the chance of first team football it seems reasonable to let him move on.
I think he will do well, but probably a similar situation to Antonio in which a good player just happens to have some better ones blocking his path.

Obvs we all love a whinge on here, but would like to mention 2 of the lads - Josh Barrett and Andre Burley - who were knocking about the fanzone yesterday.

Really good lads who spent way more time than they needed to chatting to a group of kids, Inc my own, posing for selfies etc

No obvious arrogance or big ‘I am’. Credit to the academy and how they are brought through

I'd always had a suspicion of Barrett having a bit of a dodgy attitude so that's great to hear. He's got oodles of talent so would be fantastic to see him make it.

Don't really know much of Burley, but hope he has a bright future.
