KC Royal Liam Driscoll has joined Hungerford Town on loan.

As an emergency replacement for Jokull Andrésson who is injured...

This is great for us......but how many of our great potential goalkeepers have ever made it back to us....or anywhere significant?

Hamer has been a very slow burner and got slated big time for Huddersfields defeat on Saturday.

Bit of a random comment there Spizz - not sure anyone thinks that an 18 year old joining a non-league club is anything more than routine.

Ashdown, Young, Hamer, Andersen, McCarthy, and Moore makes six professionals to have come through our academy (not counting those presently at the club). That's a much better hit rate than for any position except maybe striker.

Calling Hamer a slow burn is weird. He has over 200 Football League appearances, 90 at this level or higher. He's just come off a few quiet years as back up to Kasper Schmeichel, but let's not forget his time at Brentford or Charlton. He's a success by any reasonable metric.

yeah the Hamer comment was more directed at his time with us, “forever the bridesmaid” scenario. Yes I am fully aware of his credentials amongst the Championship teams (and below)....however, his Premiership days have been by-and-largely fallow....but he’s finally got there (hence the slow-burn).

Regarding some of our other gk talent? a good few have gone off on loan, done well, and have returned.... only to fade from our radar.

Those were ny points

Poorly presented by me, admittedly.

No fullbacks on the bench for the first team then.

Royals and Racers 1-0 Barrett

Baffled why Barrett can`t get anywhere near the first team, been scoring constantly for a couple of years now.

Didn't he have a rather unsuccessful loan at a low level? And has had some fairly poor reviews on here from Academy games in the last year or so. He certainly didn't look much cop in the little I've seen of him in them.

How many goals has he actually scored in the last 2- 3 years? From how many games?

went to Coventry last season and was absolutely pasted by their fans as being fat, slow, and just not very good. Don’t think he fitted in at all with their style of play. Think he was being played as a left midfielder and didn’t do much work defensively
