Bournemouth are owned by a Russian billionaire, they've not got themselves promoted on a shoe-string.

I know that, but just because you have a rich owner doesn't mean you can fling money at all areas of the club without thought or consideration.

What do they have to consider? They were on average at 90% capacity last season, that would easily justify an expansion and you don't have to screw over your fans on ticket prices, with the influx of PL TV money it pretty much supports infrastructure improvements, the academy also should be bare minimum, cat 2 for anyone with Premier League ambitions.

It's not unreasonable to suggest players may consider a team's infrastructure when deciding on whether or not to join, this must be especially relevant for youth players, why join Cat 3 Bournemouth when there are Car 1 Reading and Southampton nearby, the end result is they get the scraps rather than the best.

There's informal resistance from Bournemouth Council. Some bollocks about the town's image and where the stadium is located.

Not sure about the wisdom of spunking your PL money on expanding the stadium which wouldn't actually be ready until you've got relegated.

Spend on the team, see if you can stay up for a season or 2, then think about expanding.... (was the policy I believe)

They seemed to have done the first bit quite successfully until all the players they bought got injured.

But it's not like with us where we were talking about expanding the stadium but didn't do it when we got relegated, if we had done it we'd have a half empty stadium right now, if Bournemouth did it they'd probably fill the stadium consistently even if they got relegated.

Dean Court only holds 11,500. They could easily add another 5,000 and still fill out Championship matches if the team were playing well.

We were looking to go to 32,000? Our average attendance is 17,000. We'd be half empty. Proportionately, it's a similar increase, even if it's absolutely much bigger.

Heard big things about Sam Smith; and it makes a change to find a player that doesn't have money on his mind. :?

Weren't the U21s supposed to be away at Man U yesterday but now the game is in Feb?

Or have I just completely made that up?

Under 21 game v Man U was definitely scheduled for last night originally - so must have been postponed at some point.

You're right, it seems most of Man U's games are being postponed and I can't see any reason why.

U21 lost 2-1 to Brentford this afternoon at Wycombe in the cup-pretty poor result as Brentford are in the lower division.

If they expanded to what? If 20,000 then no they wouldn't.

Royals and Racers U21 lost 2-1 to Brentford this afternoon at Wycombe in the cup-pretty poor result as Brentford are in the lower division.

Very attacking team picked, and no Liburd, and a great performance from Brentford's goalkeeper.

We've got lots of defensive injuries, and lots of forwards who need to play, so we end up shoehorning Stacey at right back in a 4-4-2. OK, but if you're gonna do that, don't pick Semedo on the right wing.

Sounds like our first team squad.
