Blimey, I'd go as far to suggest we're purposely signing crocked players to stay top of the injury league.

Oh ffs. No one ever seems to get over an injury while the probability must be that the more the others play, the more likely they will join the list. What is the update on Guthrie,Robson-Kanu, Pog etc?
We don't hear anything for ages and then get told they've had another set back for a few more months.

He was getting fit and then got injured. So he needs to get over his injury and then get fit again......

BBC Radio Berks said yesterday that Anton was "months away from starting" - what a fantastic buy he turned out to be - akin to TSI spending all their money on Pog instead of getting in the players we need.

What a signing this bloke has turned out to be. Have we any idea what the injury is or is that something else that needs to be kept from us?. The money wasted on his monthly wages....unless he's on a pay as you play deal.....could surely have been spent on someone better placed to help us out of our current defensive mess.

I wonder if Anton will ever make an appearance for us. Clearly a signing because of our links with Samrit Bunditkitsada and we did not look at the fact that he had not played football for a year before signing for us and was clearly nowhere near match fit. Cooper has looked ok in the games I have seen of him. But would playing him and Hector at the back be a huge risk considering both are very young and inexperienced?

Anton defo looks a waste of resources to me thus far. The only thing he can do is help develop the youngsters whilst he is not fit.

Odd one this, he arrived not match fit and was buildling that up and expected to be back mid to late September.

As I recall I think he pulled a hamstring or a calf muscle which set him back, meaning he had to rehabilitate that and then start getting near match fitness again. The suggestion was late October/early November for being back in training.

Of course if he's had a further setback that's possible but I've no seen anything more. Perhaps ask Charlie Watts on the EP chat tomorrow if he knows more or at least so he can ask NA specifically on Thursday.

I don't think this is much of a surprise, or much of a loss other than that we could have a different defender who might actually play instead.

Only difference being I can't see Anton Ferdinand getting anywhere near picking up a European trophy.

Was he actually bought though? or was this some kind of 'gift' from Samrit to allow the Thai consortium some time to get their act together!

He was a free agent, so it's a question of his contract terms. Is he on low basic and then big appearance bonus? Did he get a signing on fee? Who knows.
