If that's the side - probably a decent shot - there will only be 3 players in the side from the last time I went, in February. Remarkable. And max 4 out of 14 as two of the subs (Alf and Drenthe) have gone too.

I don't think we'll see Ferdinand for some time yet.

I'm not totally convinced we'll ever see Ferdinand play a first team game. No real reason to think so, just a gut feeling. Clearly not Adkins' choice, club quite quiet about his 45 minutes for the U21s. Probably wrong, just got a feeling.

I think he'll need to do very well in training, take advantage of a significant loss of form / results from one of his competitors, or take advantage of suspensions and injuries, to play much.

Norwood and Kuhl sounds like a good partnership to me: potentially. I really hope they are given a decent run together. I don't think we will get promoted this season and, to be honest, I kind of hope we don't. For me what would be a wonderfully successful season would be if the academy products were given a lengthy chance in which mistakes due to inexperience are quickly forgiven.

Interesting that Kuhl seems to be the choice of many whereas some of the 242 souls who braved 'Boro seemed to think that it was "a game too far" for the lad. Don't get me wrong I'm a firm believer in the good enough/old enough philosophy but, where possible, kid gloves are required.

And of course, he'll have had two weeks off rather than starting three games in about a week.

Guthrie and HRK are apparently going to be back by then though so maybe they'll feature.

Looks too lightweight. There's no holding player in front of the centre backs.

Me too seeing as Kuhl will have had a nice chance to recuperate from struggling with the pace of three professional games in about a week. Assuming Guthers isn't back.
