Oliver Norwood

Anyone watching him running around like a headless chicken in this Scotland v Northern Ireland game.....

EDIT.

That's the third time this game his dodgy passing has let Scotland in on the counter... I thought this guy was known for his passing and free kick skills...

Norwood is completely ineffective. The latest in a long line of useless signings we have made in the past 3 years.

Is he the new Leigertwood? Composed, authoritative and controlling for half a dozen games or so, then both of them totally failed to perform. Really, really disappointed in Norwood, I thought we'd unearthed a gem there......

Wow, and people wonder why I dig out stats.

Leigertwood transformed the team, and for a heck of a lot more than six games

An obsession with stats can mean you miss the actual point. It's not the number of games - 6, 10, 19, not the issue. The point is that they both looked like they were going to be the marshalling force in midfield, like Sidwell had been for instance, but both failed to maintain it. Leigertwood was poor for a lot longer than he was good. Almost from the time he signed his permanent deal. Similarly, Norwood looked absolute class, but has faded badly.

Leigertwood's only failing was that McDermott thought he could hack it in the PL.

His partnership with Jem left a little to be desired in quality on the ball but that was the combination not the players themselves. They were both certainly highly effective in the Chumpionship.

Dissing Legs for his time here is just plain daft.

Ian Royal Leigertwood's only failing was that McDermott thought he could hack it in the PL.

... in a 4-4-2. He was accomplished in 4-5-1, and even in 4-4-2 people overlook some really good performances from him that season (particularly versus Fulham and Everton).

Norwood has got an important role to play for the rest of the season. Two games a week for a month is a lot of work for central midfielders. He will be used a lot. Hope he finds some good form again

And Legs is a legend. I'd still have him in the squad now if he could get back to fitness
