Jem had 86.5% pass completion, highest rating of all the starting 11.

yes he had a decent game, but his wages are high as he signed his last deal in the Premier League, so is he really worth a new deal on that money? Interesting to see if he would accept a new deal on lower wages.

AthleticoSpizz
Snowball How could anyone not think Jem had a good game today?
you do realise that this is la la land.

Anyway, we all await Ian's take on it

No, this is the land of the Hobnob Pr*cks and there's no finer example than Ian Royal and his relentless drivel.

Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, a very decent 70mins from Jem on his long road to recovery.

Worst case scenario, could there be a better midfield dynamo to lead a side full of home grown/ Chelsea youngster's next season should we, through sheer financial necessity, be deprived of most of the senior players in the current squad?

3points Reckoned the only reason he played today was due to the him being the face of the Ryan's Royals thing. Don't expect to see him starts another game this season.

Out of interest what has happened to Williams since his suspension. Did he get injured on international duty?

He may return to the bench v Bournemouth but given that Ake & Chalobah are cup tied and Williams is injured it wouldn't surprise me to see him in the starting 11 next week.

Certainly expect him to see him getting considerable game time now he has a full 75 minutes under his belt and considerable decisions needing to be made in the simmer over the entire playing staff.

Chalobah isn't cup tied. He played a key role in our win against Bradford. BBCRB didn't think Williams is injured. They were questioning why he hasn't been involved.

Williams is injured - he came back from international duty with a knee injury ... BBC Berks as usual are clueless.

FAir enough. Missed that news. Agree it makes it more likely Jem will get some more game time. Actually think Akpan has looked fairly decent since he's come back from injury as well.

Would definitely help bbc berks if one of the presenters could turn up to the weekly press conference, or at least read a summary

Distinctly average player romanticised by his long term injury.

We need to remember RFC doesn't owe Jem anything having paid for 2 years of rehabilitation. If he gets greedy about the length or size of a new contract, they are well within their rights to say no.

Perhaps a 1 year extension at a moderate amount would be reasonable.

Perhaps we are all surmising about a contract that hasn't yet been questioned

That's a really contorted way of looking at it. Jem's has had 2 major injuries received while playing for the club. The very least a club owes it's employee is to ensure they are treated and rehabilitated. Surprised you aren't suggesting they take the cost of treatment out of his wages....
A one year contract with a 2 year option would be the minimum, but I do agree that the terms need to be affordable. He's club captain, been at the club over 10 years and is a senior pro, he should be paid appropriately.

Karacan performs a similar role to Williams, but he's not quite as good, is out of contract and is a huge injury risk.

Horrible choice to make but unless they get him on a shitty deal, do we need an expensive back-up for Williams when we already have Akpan + kids?

I'd take a fit Karacan over Williams any day.

Williams has skills, sure, but he's less of a team player
and he gets into too many arguments with teammates
