Will we win another game all season?

by floyd__streete » 24 Apr 2015 13:14

Before Easter I predicted - half jokingly - that Reading won't win another game all season. Now with the end of this awful season in sight it looks like my prophecy was an accuracte one. In the last few we have Brentford and Derby trying to secure a play off place and Rotherham needing the points to stay up.

Not bothered if we do or don't. Roll on the summer and a number of, I hope, significant changes in and out, and a new, fresh and revitaslised team come August.

Now we're safe I don't really care. Half hope Brentford beat us to make the playoffs.

Stiff competition from messrs Bandini and Zaretsky, but this chap is becoming one of my favourite Daves on the bored.

Given that our season basically finished on Tuesday night (or Saturday if you want) the answer is no. We're now in what is tantamount to a prelonged pre-season for 2015/16.

I'd quite like us to play seriously above what the form book suggests next Saturday and prevent Derby from getting in the playoffs as like all good reading fans I'm still bitter about what John Gregory said all those years ago

For my very "On the fence" answer, I think we will win another game this season, tomorrow in fact but I can definitely see us failing to win the final three.

Clarke says we have to play our strongest team as the fate of others rests on the last 3 games so no we won't win any

I'm extremely confident we won't win more than one of the last three games. Four points seems extremely unlikely. Three a stretch. Two possible and one probable. But zero wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Suspect we will win tomorrow, lose against Rotherham and get a point against derby

Shit just seen I've said the same as Dave royal. I change my mind.
Clarke says we have to play our strongest team as the fate of others rests on the last 3 games so no we won't win any
But does he know our strongest team? Main problem is up front. We gave Arsenal a good run for their money, and against Birmingham we had (according to the BBC web site) 22 shots - but scored no goals. Our defence is stable, we have a number of good midfield options, but we are gash up front. How about Appiah and Novakovich up front against Brentford?

if we lose our last 7 games in all comps which will be 1 win in 15, then Clarke should be sacked surely?

No, we'll draw against Rotherham on Tuesday night, but lose the other two matches. Clarkey won't be bothered by that. He's going to use these last three games to experiment a bit with different players and tactics. His mind is already planning who to sell and where to spend the Thai money during the summer. Next season we'll be back with a vengeance to fight for a higher spot, like 14th or 15th :( .

Racing Post Football Editor Mark Langdon ROTHERHAM are 3-1 with bet365 to be relegated from the Championship after being deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.

Derby defender Farrend Rawson played for Rotherham after his youth loan deal had expired and United are now only one point above the drop zone, although they have a game in hand on nearest rivals Millwall.

Interesting little bit of news that could potentially alter the complexion of the game... :?: I still don't think we'll win it though.

My thoughts entirely, although it's probably fair to say that he has had cause to eat those words a few times during the intervening 13 or so years.
