Fixtures for 2015/2016

by Sutekh » 13 Jun 2015 09:26

Make their appearance on Wednesday, so let's see who can get closest to predicting the August fixture list.

I'm going for

Sat 8 - Preston NE (h)
Sat 15 - Middlesbrough (a)
Sat 22 - Cardiff C (h)
Sat 29 - Blackburn (a)

That should see us safely ensconced in a battle for 24th by the start of September.

HOME game to start!

by msmivie » 13 Jun 2015 17:18

Prepare yourself for a HOME game to start the Championship season on Saturday 8 August.
Absolutely guaranteed!
The Royals never play at home on the weekend of the Reading Pop Festival, which this year will be on 29 August (the fourth weekend of the season). So it has to be at HOME on Sat 8 and 22, and AWAY on Sat 15 and 29.
Put the date in your diary.

Don't know where you normally get your diary from but mine have always come with 8th August already in them.

An interesting theory but our 4th game in the season just gone was away after opening with an away game - AWAY HOME HOME AWAY.

Would depend on any midweek games as to which game number falls on Reading Fest weekend but not sure your post guarantees a home game.

We started AWAY HOME HOME AWAY AWAY as our August games last season including a midweek game. Reading Fest is a week later this year but would have been away still on the equivalent weekend so wouldn't be surprised by a similar pattern this year.

As for teams... not a clue but I'm gonna say Fulham first home game and Ipswich first away game.

Congratulations Sutekh, by attempting to predict the first 4 fixtures you've somehow made the annual attempts to guess the opener seem slightly less gimp. Although all of it pales into comparison with Kes's annual post, probably due on Tuesday, guaranteeing our first game as he has a mate who works for the league.

I can categorically say we will be playing Bristol City away on a Tuesday night.

I'm not ITK in any way, but I just know this will happen.

I'll just try and predict the 1st match, I've got a 1/46th chance of getting that right.

Let's say......

Cardiff (A)

I'm imagining either a deaf girl or a mail order bride?

Worth noting this snippet from STAR management meeting with the club earlier this year

Finally the difficulty in mid-week games was raised and RFC have a representative on the League committee to review this
and next season League 1 and 2 will continue to prioritise local games for Saturday as this maximises revenue but
Championship will have more local games in midweek and also break the pairing of midweek games both home and away
against the same team.

Look forward to some mongtard (Kes usually) posting up the first fixture 5 minutes before the official release and claiming they are ITK when in fact there are always websites, and therefore twitter, releasing them a few minutes early
