I think 4M without add ons is a good price for Hector and equips us well for a new signing or two. Wouldn't be gutted if he went because we'd get so much in addons for Chelsea getting rid of him.

Why? Buy out clauses are based on a host of other factors of which we know little of the detail

Hector's previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season. He could easily have run that down and gone on a free (with compensation due) or go for a lot less this summer with only the 12 months left on the contract. The cub would've been held over a barrel on it to a certain extent.

£4m is a decent price as well, even in this window full of crazy fees.

Charlton reportedly got £3.5m for Gomez, a player which much more potential and an extra 5 years left in him than Hector.
