No Fixed Abode If it's Barnsley. Is there any less glamorous tie in the whole World than Reading v Barnsley?

Not going to disagree with you to be honest. The last time we drew them in the cup it was possibly the most dire game I have ever witnessed.

Walsall. Cup and League. Home and away. Never in the history of this great sport has it less deserved its soubriquet "The Beautiful Game."

Wasn't expecting that but Everton have the ability to turn it around, and plenty of time...

Smashed and grabbed a winner last time we met them in cup competition, i don't see why we can't do it again. In for this one.

Martinez fielded a strong side tonight. So it should be a decent game. Barnsley showed they are not unbeatable just the small problem of us scoring a goal to have any chance of winning the tie! :o

It will also be a true test of how solid our defence really is.....

I'm pleased Reading have got a massive cup tie versus Everton. The Town will be buzzing for it.

Was that the Tuesday night game when they brought down about 38 fans including the busdriver & his auntie and beat us 2-0 when we played like a Sunday morning pub team with flip-flops on? or was that a league game? instantly forgettable either way...

A home tie is good.
A tie against a Premier team is good.
A tie against Everton is good.

Everton have lost on their last two visits to the Royals and, in their only previous cup meeting, were eliminated by Reading from the FA Cup 1-0 at home in 2011. I was there to watch that memorable match.

Everton has yet to progress beyond the third round of the Capital One Cup under Roberto Martinez, having been eliminated at Leeds United, Fulham and Swansea City in the last 32.
:D
By the end of September Reading should be at full strength and have the new players and current injured players settled in, so this promises to be a close, but win able match for Reading.
