With 5 in 8 champ games how many goals do you think blackman will score this season. he is currently top scorer for reading and joint top in champ.

Impossible to say but if a/ he keeps fit and b/keeps up the current form then 15-20 is possible.

If they can keep fit Sa and Vydra are also capable of 15-20 too - in which case we would end up at the top of the tree or thereabouts in early May.

With his current scoring rate he is on course for the 25-30+ category, of course he's unlikely to maintain that goal scoring form, very few do. I've gone for 15-20.

May well top 20 if he can keep Sa away from the penalties

I think he's probably in a bit of a purple patch and with the options we've got it won't take much of a slide to lose his place. He's doing extremely well, but still making some poor choices (although that's natural for most goalscorers really).

So 10-15 for the season, probably top end of that.

I'd love him to get 20 goals this season, if only to silence his many doubters - which includes me big time. I still can't warm to him, but if he contributes to the team for the whole season, there is no way we can continue to berate him.

I have seen him live many times and have never been impressed with him. However, in the televised game v Ipswich he certainly appeared to have gained some pace, an ability to hold onto ball and of course an electric finish. Still has a tendency to over elaborate, but he certainly has bags of confidence this season, and maybe just needed an arm around his shoulder rather than a kick up the backside. Also I think Sa and Vydra will be good foils for his particular style of play.

As someone else pointed out, he is currently our most expensive striker (the £2.5M loan fee for Vydra not withstanding). As such I suppose the fans do expect things of him. I just hope that when he hits a lean spell, we don't all get on his back immediately.

Put £15 each way (1/4, 4 places) on Friday at 50/1 for Championship top scorer with Sky Bet and another added over the weekend plus Charlie Austin pulled his hamstring. Now only 16/1!

If he keeps the confidence up then he's going to be hard to drop and he'll be on penalty duty so I think the bet is going to go close.
