Bolton (A) Match Thread sponsored by Alex Fernandez

by genome » 02 Apr 2016 14:19

Reading starting XI vs Bolton: Al-Habsi, Gunter, Obita, Cooper, McShane (c), Norwood, Quinn, Williams, Piazon, Vydra, Kermorgant.
Reading subs vs Bolton: Bond, Taylor, Evans, Ferdinand, Fernandez, John, Cox.

Piazon and Vydra a bit of a surprise, no John in the starting 11. 4-3-3?
And Fernandez is on the bench!

4-4-2 diamond is what I'm hoping for. Our crossing is so poor I don't think we'll miss wingers

Given the OP went with

Piazon and Vydra a bit of a surprise, no John in the starting 11. 4-3-3?

I'm going to go with "fair comment" and I'm also going to think you're a bit of a dick from here on in.

Great start, m8, let's see where we can go from here.

Strikes me as what we should be playing.
Assuming 4-3-3, it's easily the closest available to the formula we were using at our most successful under Clarke.

If it's 4-4-2 with Piazon in the 4 it's a disaster. I don't see how it can be though.

Norwood was at his best sitting in a midfield three. Quinn gives us energy and all round quality. Williams gives us drive through the middle and will support the attack. Vydra gives us pace. Piazon gives us ingenuity. Kermorgant gives us a presence upfront. Norwood, Piazon and Vydra should be capable of linking very well.

Hector may have been performing well in a holding role, but for me he didn't fit the rest of the team dynamic well, making it less than the sum of its parts. John looked exciting and produced not a whole lot.

Bless, feeling a tad hormonal, *m8*? Don't worry, you'll grow out of it.

Vydra bloody missed.

Tim Dellor is having another meltdown about Vydra but I'm starting to turn against him too.
