What is this "paying out his contract" shizz?

Think that contracts are pre-determined with get-out clauses for both sides

Cannot envisage too much cash being available based on Bmacs pay-off

CountryRoyal The only thing we can possibly be optimistic about is that if the Thai's are prepared to pay out McD's contract then hopefully they have the funds to splash the cash on some decent players.

It's a stretch, but what else do we have right now.

Who's going to work out who and what we need now most of our senior backroom team have left?

Ian Royal Well that's that feeling well and truly gone.

More likely to get relegated than ever.

Absolutely.

And it will be hard to feel any sympathy for the owners if that happens.

Are you saying I deserve to be relegated? That is rude.

Beautiful timing:
Just looked at the morning's post. It contains a card from the club about renewing season tickets.

Roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour. No driver, no idea where the bus is going when a driver finally turns up & whether he/she will even have passed his/her test.
Most likely destination: nearest cliff.

I have gone from being strangely optimistic to the most pessimistic I have ever felt as a Reading fan.

McD was on a 2 1/2 year contract, there could well have been pre-determined get outs but I bet it would be at least 6 months £. I cant see any manager signing a fixed term contract that had a very short get out period on the clubs side.

Agreed. The reason it took a while to announce Brian as manager was the Thais only wanted to offer him an 18 month deal, but he held out for 2.5 years. No doubt the pay-off clause reflects the longer contractual period as well. One year is fairly normal I believe

Optimistic that the appointment, that the board will make sometime during the summer, that will leave all of us less than impressed will be gone by xmas as panic settles in...

You never know what might happen. There's plenty of other clubs in a state of constant transition. At the end of the day if the 11 guys on the pitch deliver. Then everything else will be forgotten. My pessimism lies with football more generally. As making money is now the primary objective for owners.

I don't think they care tbh. The value of the land around the stadium wont change. They wont be here long once they've made their 'share' of the money. Meanwhile we will have a football club that's a lot less attractive to buy, with £60m plus debt, and possibly third tier football.

Obviously in the pessimistic camp.
