One8Seven1* Only £2m for one of our best youngsters, and possibly our best midfielder? That is a joke!

And when we're being told there isn't much money available, and we need to rely on the academy, we then see our suspect owners sell one of our best youngsters that we absolutely 100% need to build a team around, questions really do need to be asked.

If true they have really lost the plot. If thats the first act of our new football director we now know they really are naive. I was becoming slightly hopeful but if this is the quality of their negotiating skills and so called thinking of building from within then we know THEY HAVENT A CLUE!!!

Royal Rother Ignore him. It's just the pub bore looking for a bit of attention.

It's not, it's my opinion. Please respect it.

Can't they just click the 'not available at any price' button and be done with it?

Because everyone at every club is available if the price is right.

Agree with consensus on here that £2m is a complete ****** joke whether with add-ons or not.

I'd want more than double that up front just to reply to them let alone start a discussion.

Letting him go - especially to a rival and at such a pathetic price - would immediately destroy any "feel good" factor or positivity around the place that had come in with Jaap.

This is seriously bad news !!!!
A bad start for Stam if he lets this happen.
I renewed my ST-but wouldn't have bothered if I had known the Club was being stripped of any ambition.

Tish is the kind of player we want to be building our team around if we have any real ambition.

Unfortunately as he's not played many games and had some bad injuries, a couple of million is probably seen as a fair bid from Norwich. It might also be seen as a good business deal by the owners, if they apply the same logic as Norwich.

Hopefully Tevreden and Stam (and the coaches and scouts that have seen him play more) can give a football perspective and stop a sale happening.

On the Get Reading website, Charlie Watts understands that the Royals have turned down "more than one offer" for Tish. Also, they expect more to come in over the next few weeks. So, some hope that we may not sell him after all. Let's hope the owners will resist all offers for him and are not just trying to up the fee.

They do not have to sell, full stop, so all other clubs could be told to just go and do one somewhere.

However the club will probably sell if what they think is a good deal comes along as they have to look at the bigger picture and what big money coming in would mean being able to do with the squad overall.

I would therefore suggest we discuss what would be the minimum acceptable if he was to be sold. I'd start with a figure of £4m figure up front as a minimum. I'd also throw in a caveat not to sell to a Championship club.

Do not sell, full stop. If the club do sell him, what makes you so sure the money will be reinvested in the squad and not used to pay for other bills?

Any less than £3.5m would be a travesty and we shouldn't be selling at all.

4 million is what theyd probably sell at.
id insist on a prohibitively expensive 6 million plus add ons (unless theres a release clause, in which case id just give him a new contract, higher wages, and up the release clause.)

He wouldn't go for anything above £4 million.

It's not like he's had a full season looking awesome. He's had 13 apps and is very injury prone and there's also no guarantee he will come back as good as he was. Few million at best.

Norwich have had a bid accepted for Reading midfielder Aaron Tshibola. #ncfc #readingfc

He's usually fairly reliable :(

So, we're potentially selling him for less than we paid to have Vydra here for a year.
