Not seen anything from the club/media on Quinn, or Mendes come to that, but logic suggests both are injured (again).

In the interview after the match on BBC Berks Jaap said that Mendes was injured.

Mendes out for another 2 weeks with hamstring injury

Jaakkola has a knee injury, unknown how long he will be out

Quinn still has his knee injury (that's been going on and off for several months now I believe). Will definitely miss Wigan but is in Irish squad so presumably not too far away from playing again, though am starting to worry may go on and on and on seeing as he seems to come back play a bit of game and is then out again.

Following last night's U23 game between England and Italy, John Swift is scheduled and scan on his ankle.

Appears he rolled over his ankle after about half an hour and the club are concerned there could be ligament damage.

If I had to see a silver lining out of this, it gives Liam Kelly a shot in that position.

Can confirm. Saw it on twitter on a football account and then swift himself tweeted about the injury.

Gutting ... like you said we seem to be on a run

Hopefully won't be too much of big miss, but as our only source of real creativity from midfield we may struggle.

Let's just grind out nil-nils until he's back.

Yea play offs look like a good possibility if we keep fighting for each point.

Brighton I fear are going to get promoted automatically. They do seem like a "proper team".

Seeing knockharts dad died, Sidwell scoring a belter and then running over to hold his shirt up ... then them all flying out to another country to support him.

Little things but I think they have it all set there. It's a shame as I really can't stand Brighton.

If I was manager I would put Kelly straight into Swift's role v Burton, no question.

Sadly, bearing in mind the fact that in his one start so far in the league Stam stuck him in the defensive midfielder role, I don't see that happening.

Think that leaves two other options

1. Stick Evans into that role
2. Move Williams there and play 2 strikers..... ( like that would ever happen ).

I really don't like Evans being played further up. He's been steady and dependable in that DM spot, but everything seems to have passed him by a bit further up. I'd prefer to see Van Den Berg pushed up a bit, he appears to be able to see the passes a bit better.

Last time Swift was injured we went with VdB, Evans and Williams in the middle for wins over Cardiff and Ipswich, so can't see Stam going with anything else

Only other option might be Quinn, but he didn't make the Ireland squad this week due to injury

I just can't see him throwing in Kelly, even if home to Burton Albion would be the perfect game for him, and besides we're not too sure if he's fit having come off during the Yeovil game midweek

There's always Sandro Wieser.......

Wieser, VDB, Evans, and Kelly have all mostly been used defensive midfielders this season. Kelly's the one with the most potential to move up but Stam used him at the base against Arsenal with VDB and Evans ahead of him. Can we recall Tanner?

I'd like to see VDB behind Kelly and Williams. I expect we'll mostly use VDB behind Evans and Williams.

:o He hasn't tweeted that he has ankle ligament damage, nor has he tweeted that he will be out until Christmas. His last tweet was yesterday and he merely said he was fuming about his injury.
