John Madejski's Wallet

RichTea94 Have all our league goals so far been from set pieces?

If so, it's both an impressive improvement from the last few seasons and an indictment of our strikers.

Yes.

Corner against PNE, pen against Newcastle, corner and free kick today.

Even the Plymouth game was a free kick for the first.

I am overjoyed that set pieces are something to get excited about again.

The last couple of season have been depressing, with winning a set piece not raising so much as a 'pffft' from most people

As long as they don't "overthink" the routines like that mess they provided in the 2nd half yesterday.

At that point in the season we looked like we'd win the league.

It's gonna take time to bring the masses back, mate. I think you'll find that, even allowing for peeps being on their hols, quite a few of the great unwashed thought 'sod this for a game of sailors'. There are only so many inflatable dolphins to be knocked around to compensate for the dross being served up on the pitch. And bearing in mind that we were playing a more local side yesterday who were top of the table at the start of play.

RoyalCrisp ....if he gets booked for talking to the linesmen you'd have to book most players on the pitch.

Unless you know exactly what was said it's hard to know if a booking was warranted or not. He may well have called him a cheating c**t for all we know.

tmesis Why do subs need so long to get ready to come on these days?

It wasn't that long ago that they just took off a tracksuit top, and they were ready to play. Now they seem to have to get changed first. Would it really be that difficult for a sub to be wearing his full kit already?

This really annoys me too. I'd fine any player who wasn't ready to come on as soon as I gave them the nod if I was manager.

Pretty sure it's this:

Dissent = yellow card
Foul, abusive, threatening language = red

Which in itself is dumb that it's being treated as a new rule as those were in the rule books when I did my referee course when I was 15. That was 10 years ago.
