LWJ Apparently somebody from the Premier league stepped in, hence why they have failed something. Avenues are being explored to see if this is appeal-able as the consortium failed last time, not the siblings.

First with the news tbf.

I haven't heard anymore which isn't a bad thing...

Guessing they're just waiting to see what division we'll be in. Obvs if we go up it becomes the PL's problem.

Surprised they're still interested after yesterday

Although 7 + 1 = 8 which is a lucky number in Chinese.

Interesting

Still presume they will wait til we find out what division we are in before the club actually changes hands

Maybe they thought they'd release some positive news to stem the (wholly unjustified) negativity after yesterday.

Very odd indeed and, as said, light on info. I'd hazard a guess (based on nothing but idle speculation) that this is as much for the players and management team as anyone, the only noises Stam has made in the past about the ownership situation have been pretty negative, perhaps they think this statement may settle the squad a little.

{conspiracy} OR the team threw the match yesterday knowing that it was effectively a dead rubber to embarrass the Thai's in to selling up* {/conspiracy}

*clearly I don't believe this at all.

On the plus side, now the Thais have got the land we can't have too many more assets to strip so these guys probably just want to launder their dirty money without tearing too much out of the football club.

presumably Leeds will also be rejected, and QPR will never be allowed to go up. Both have actually breached rules whereas it seems our potential owners are being punished for something involving other people at a different club !

Also, I hope all plans for Royal Elm Rink (or whatever it was going to be called) crash and fukking burn. I couldn't give two fukks to expanding the area or the stadium and those Thai pcunts can stick their ice skating up their fukking arse.

Yeah I'm currently a massive fan of the desolate industrial wasteland surrounding the stadium, that means getting there anymore than 20 minutes before kick off is as interesting as plucking pubes.

Because the Thais will presumably make a shed load of cash out of it. Not the stadium expansion part, but as I'm sure that's not remotely part of their future plans. Not that it's needed or ever will be.

LOL. Yes, I've often longed to tear it around an ice rink just before kick off.

Imagine that... being super rich and winning every game without ever getting promoted to the premier league.

Sounds ideal if you ask me.

Could've been the other way around. Telegraph have a quote from the EFL confirming they've approved the takeover, so presumably the club wanted to get it out "officially" when they caught wind of the story they were going to run with. Sounds most likely given the small amount of detail in the announcement.
