TBM Errrr :?

"Chinese spending power in European football is set to be reined in as the country's government takes action to prevent money leaving the mainland and the Midlands could be particularly affected, with Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Bromwich Albion and Wolves all under Chinese ownership."

Dai lives in HK and I'm pretty sure also has a business or holdings there and so wouldn't come under the same financial regulations and restrictions imposed by the mainland. Can't see it being a particular problem if I'm being honest.

Haven't our owners made a lot of their money in the UK?

A lot is relative, and I'm sure they have, but the majority of their wealth comes from retail development particularly underground shopping malls. Could be wrong though.

Just dig the basement level out a bit and you're away.

Snowflake said 'not many', that doesn't mean 'none'. So, no, it is not scotch mist.

Two new articles on The Tilehurst End.

Now we're a year into the Chinese's stewardship I thought it was time to reflect on the owners.

...and then see if there's anything we can garner from that for the future

Do you know anything about the interest rates the club are being charged against our debt? I read an article about Championship clubs a few weeks ago which suggested we were being charged astronomic interest charges which were at a far higher rate than any other club in the division.

From what I remember of that article, I believe it was before we had paid off that Vibrac loan and they did indeed charge high interest on it.

The rate charged was horrendous. If it’s paid off now then all well and good.

I'd have to do a lot more digging to seriously comment on the finances and I'm not sure there's enough out there that clarifies who is the beneficiary from loans. Someone more intelligent is welcome to research and take a stab at it. This was only meant to be one piece that morphed into two as it is....
