For some reason there was massive amounts of coverage of the action of the Birmingham-Burton game in the Sky highlights.

Burton were all at sea at the back, but my god Brum were even worse.

Kev in Bracknell
Royal_jimmy I don't have massive respect but fair play to Brighton. Definitely deserve a shot in the premier league and consistently been solid and decent this season. Let's hope we can win these playoffs and join them!

If we win our last 3 games, we just might take 2nd auto spot. Just say in'

Of course, the odds are stacked up against us for auto, just as they were at the end of last season for a play-off place.

Our last three games are all winnable!!
Newcastle's last three are:

Preston (h)
Cardiff (a)
Barnsley (h)

All those teams are above Ipswich in the table (Ipswich beat them 3-1 yesterday)

Imagine the pressure on them on the last day if we win the next two games, and they lose them both.

Still, it can't possibly happen, so no point in worrying about it!!

Huddersfield still in theory have the best chance of catching Newcastle but after their draw yesterday it is only slightly better than our own. I'm sure Newcastle will get that win that will rule us out of getting automatic promotion but it will be interesting come Saturday if we beat Forest and Newcastle fail to beat Preston.

Huddersfield play Fulham on Saturday, and IF they lose, AND we win our last three AND Newcastle lose their last three (I'll allow them one draw), WE'RE UP.

I know it's all ifs, buts and maybes, and is extremely unlikely to happen, but who'd have thought we could even dream about it at this time last year?!?!

Newcastle are allowed 2 draws but we would have to win all our games, fail to win just one and it's the play-offs.

Of course it won't happen but it can't hurt to keep an eye on it while it is possible.

Absolutely, I'll certainly be hoping Preston get a result at SJP next weekend!

Still got us at longer odds despite them both being more than 10 points behind with 3 games left.

But seriously, if we got automatic, I'd jump in the Mersey and swim to New Brighton

Just watched the Chmpionship show from last night, I can live with them just looking at Huddersfield as a threat to Newcastle but why does everyone keep saying Fulham are the form team when over 6 games (a fairly standard sample) we've got the best record of the playoff contenders?

Because nobody else got slaughtered 7-1, and none of them can get that result out of their minds.

That last set of 6 results kind of sums up our season. Generally great, with the odd absolute disaster thrown in
