John Smith
Stranded
John Smith You've still not answered my question as you're trying to insult me instead. Jake Cooper is probably only in front of the goalkeeper in terms of penalty taking ability therefore Harris has to walk for sending him up and costing them a semi final place.

What are you learned views of the penalty taking skills of:

Alex Pearce
Shaun Hutchinson
James Meredith

These were the remaining available penalty takers.

I'd have sent Meredith up. Being a left back, he's more technical than the predominantly aerially-strong Cooper and would have stood a better chance with a dead ball kick under pressure. Hope that's a qualified enough answer.

You mean like their RB who scored their penal... oh wait he missed as well, go watch another sport, you clearly know nothing about football

What actual point are you trying to make?

That fullbacks aren't necessarily better at taking penalties than CB's as you suggested

Yes but he is a serial penalty misser. Remember up at Hillsborough when on loan for us? Unforgivable.

Is there a good reason John Smith hasn't just walked away from this one? Is he desperately trying to look daft?

Murray has a penalty strike rate of 69% throughout his career, the Premier League average was 70% last season.

Bolton takeover falls through and they have a winding up petition at the High Court tomorrow.

He's below average then. i.e. not good enough

Anyway, back on topic...

I am so angry we didn't put away Bolton Wanderers the other month up at the Reebok when we had the chance. To see dross like Wigan thrashing them the way they did and how they are like a wounded animal we really should have kicked them while they were down. To go conceding last minute goals really could be our downfall.

Seems like Brum are going to avoid a points deduction this season:

Would have made our final game with them interesting . . .

Not ideal for them really. You'd imagine they'd rather have them deducted this season and still be 2 clear of relegation rather than to start next year 12 points adrift from the get-go.

Yeah absolutely. What percentage of teams that start the season with a points deduction go on to get relegated? Must be extremely high.

If they are going to get a points deduction I would imagine like the rest of you, they would be in a better position to get the points deduction this season, if they get it next season, not only are they under an obligation to get their finances under order so may have to sell better players, but they also have the -12 points.

Which in many ways, makes the punishment more effective as a deterrent.

How does it work do the players get released at Bolton if they get folded and can we sign them as free transfers.

would be interested in Maggenis, Ameobi, Vela, Beevers and Hobbs if it was the case. could be a free way to bolster the team and replace the players going out at the end of the season. all 5 of them are good Champ quality players.

No they're not. Maggenis and Ameobi are shit, Hobbs is an injury waiting to happen and Vela is no better than Kelly.

I'll give you Beevers though, he's better than McShane.
