Strange comment. Have you thought your argument through properly?

Nope. But i stand by my comment.

Haha fair enough. Tbf I’m only speaking from personal experience but I used melt at uni long before I ever heard it on reality tv.

Reality tv is in by definition a representation (or some bastardised version of) reality. The people on those types of shows are (apparently) just like any other person in our society and therefore their relative socialects are at least partially representative of the vernacular of their peers in the “real world”.

What then happens, as you’ve pointed out, is people who watch those shows may show a tendency of copying certain terms, subconsciously or consciously and then continues the cycle of evolving lexis.

Wether or not the reasons are right (there is not right or or wrong though) that’s how language has evolved and grown throughout history, through borrowing, slang etc.
[/quote]

I always thought it was a Danny Dyer/Football Factory etc insult. Reality TV knobs are really late to the party.

Quite right - right reason, wrong club

Not being a smart arse here-I just remember Everton paying what I thought was way over the odds for him.

Ye, but Villa?! In the Championship? Honestly.

Surely someone like a West Ham or Newcastle would have taken him?

He only became available when he wasn't named in the Everton squad. So even if West Ham or Newcastle wanted him, the window was already closed for them.

Millwall one down at HT , but the stats make interesting considering they our next opponents at fortress Madejski, they`ve had 14 shots with 7 on target, they will love it here.
in other news Adam Reach score another blinder, but not even his best goal in the last week.

Watched the last 15 minutes Forest game, Millwall all over them like a rash, last minute equaliser. from 2-0 down.

And WBA will murder us Saturday, that is all.

Interesting how every team we’re about to play will hammer us, and then after we play them they were absolute rubbish

A bit. Just so long as someone is as miserable about something as I am.

Preston already two up. In the live table we are back in the relegation zone.

Can’t see Preston going down. More interested in how Ipswich, Bolton and Hull are getting on tbh
