No Fixed Abode I didn't say I agreed. I just said you used current form in your argument then but it's wrong for me to use current form whether Reading will amass enough points to get in the play-offs.

Your words, not mine. I said I think it's double standards to feel that you shouldn't comment on good form but think it's fine to comment on bad form.

My point is people are less likely to think you're trolling if you come on here and praise the team as well as just criticising them. Especially if you want Reading to do well, as you said

Genome, please for the love of sanity stop engaging with Kes endlessly, particulalrly on Team. You're just encouraging him and giving him what he wants. And it makes threads unbearable.

genome Norwich/Derby seem too inconsistent, and it remains to be seen if Fulham can keep their form up, so the total may well be low this year. Preston and Barnsley are there but I'd be surprised if they mounted a serious challenge, stranger things have happened though.

To me, Fulham are the biggest threat at the moment.

Agree with their GD if they win their game in hand they are only 3 pts behind us

He could just engage in a normal manner. I only posted some stats. He's getting all paranoid like a Liverpool fan would.

royal_craigb Right, as we enter the final 12 games of the season it seems that our position in the table may not be as "false" as many have suggested, and we're clearly going to be in the playoff mix.

Realistically how many more points do people feel we need to accumulate to secure a playoff spot?

With the form other teams are showing I would aim for 6 wins from the 12 - taking us to 78 points, which in seasons gone by has been plenty enough to get over the line.

Where will those 6 points come from? I would target:
- Wolves (H)
- Blackburn (H)
- Rotherham (H)
- Forest (A)
- Wigan (H)
- Burton (A)

This means that any slip ups in these fixtures would mean us needing to get results from the other (arguably tougher) games.

Interested to get everyone's thoughts...

We are now getting to the business end of the season and we're all looking at where the next points are coming from. Everyone always targets the teams at the bottom for easy points...IMHO these are probably the teams you need to watch out for as these teams are fighting for their lives and almost always upset the apple cart. Give me a run in against middle of the table sides all day long, these guys generally have nothing left to play for and could make easier opponents.

Kes, at the behest of the others I shall no longer be engaging you on the Team board until you decide to attempt normal conversation. I look forward to viewing your posts praising the team when we're in good form though.

Let's start again. And see if you can respond to the below in a normal manner which you didn't last time, which started this whole debacle.

Failure to score in 3 out of the last 5 games.

8 goals conceded and 5 scored.

It's not looking good.
