John Smith What's he got to do with anything?

You said I couldn't be any "more wrong" when I've just proved I could.

Ok fair point.

As merry as the day were long, you were right and I was wrong

Based on what I saw from the Fulham games Aluko would be in my top 10

Seen a few teams of the season appearing on sky and elsewhere.

Usual suspects, no Reading players (obviously)

I would have though AAH must be in the mix, I've not seen any other keeper stand out this year

The other player mentioned on Sky to miss out ( based on whoscored ratings) was Yann. Surprised Moore didn't get a shout

Not that exciting but the top champ team of the season statistically (whoscored.com) has both AAH and Yann in it. Actually prefer this team to the opinion based one

Three of the back four is comprised of a Wigan left-back, and two Barnsley defenders  . Barnsley have the 5th worst defensive record in the division...

No mention of Tom Lawrence, has to be in there. For what its worth the top 10 players I've seen this season (in no order) -

- Cairney (Fulham)
- Lawrence (Ipswich)
- Abraham (Bristol City)
- Knockaert (BHA)
- Gayle (Newcastle)
- Moore (Reading)
- Shelvey (Newcastle)
- Mooy (Huddersfield)
- Forestieri (Sheff Weds)
- Helder Costa (Wolves)

Which goes to show how statistics can be a lot of shite and utterly misleading.

No way in hell Yann should be getting anywhere near the team.

at least it didn't just dig out the same tired old names though - found it quite interesting, if agreed I wouldn't have Yann near the team personally (though I do think AAH is probably the best keeper this year)

I find any inclusion of Stockdale or Darlow a bit bizarre, no doubt they are good goalkeepers but due to the solid defences in front of them they don't really get challenged so much. Of course I'm biased but Al-Habsi at last check had made one of the highest amount of saves in the division, surely that's the best judge of best goalkeeper?

Honestly I think eyes could probably tell you he is easily one of the best goalkeepers in the league. But yes I think its probably the best way to tell how good a goalkeeper is.

Stockdale and Darlow are ordinary goalkeepers at this level.

Westwood has consistently been one of the best in the division for a long time. Obviously I don't watch him every week so it's hard to say if he's actually better than Al-Habsi but it seems likely he's in the same ballpark.

Al-Habsi's at a disadvantage because he's made some embarrassing errors in our biggest matches, but he's a fantastic goalkeeper who routinely makes saves he has no right to reach.

Swift up for the young player award as well. A little surprised but he was excellent before Christmas. Certainly winning the award should add a few quid to his value if nothing else

Didn't watch it, but sounds like he played pretty well for England U21s last night, so hopefully coming back into his best form.

Ryan Ledson was an it-kid at Everton but has now signed for Oxford  Apparently Watkins is at Exeter. So it's a Football League award rather than a Championship one, and no surprise that we haven't seen much of the contenders.

no surprise that no Reading players in the PFA 11 of the year. Usual dull choices - 4 Brighton, 3 Newcastle, Mooy, Wood and the world's two greatest players Cairney and Sessegnon (Yawn).

Difficult to particularly argue with any, but also very predictable.

Surely it should be predictable ?
A 'best team' based on the season shouldn't' be full of left field choices.
And it's pretty reasonable for it to come from the best teams.
A team of the year featuring Rotherham, Blackburn and Wigan players would be very odd !

We'd beat Weds and Leeds over two legs.

We'd have a chance against Hudds

I fear Fulham away - may just be the bad experience earlier this season.

I want Fulham to drop out and I want Leeds away in the first leg.
