by windermereROYAL » 09 May 2017 16:53

I`m not overly confident about this. hopefully i`ll be proved wrong

Head say away 0-2. home 1-1
heart says away 1-1, home 1-0

Everybody is being melts about how gr8 they think Fulham are. I reckon we will get a 2-1 win away and 2-0 at home. They are nothing special.

Fulham away - We get the early goal and it finishes 0-2 to us as Fulham press for the equaliser, we make it 2
Our Home game - We defend our lead from the first leg and it finishes 0-0

READING GO THROUGH

urz13 1-1 away, 2-2 at home. Royals to win on penalties.

No rebounds in a shootout, so we'd both lose.

What's the deal with away goals?

Does the rule not apply in the play offs?

My prediction is that this tie will not go to extra time and penalties.

Both teams are quite loose defensively and are generally quite open in their play. I expect a clear winner when the final whistle blows at the Mad stad on Tuesday night. I wouldn't want to say which way it will go.

2-0 away defeat followed by a 2-1 defeat at home

I'd love to be wrong and think Fulham are very beatable, just something nagging me that we will play crapp away and then chasing the game just isn't our strong point

Then think Weds will comfortably beat them at Wembley

We've got better each time we've played Fulham this season but I still reckon it's fairly even. It'll come down to who has a crap day rather than who has a good one. Both teams have the ability to be dreadful at the drop of a hat.

I perceive Fulham to be a marginally better big game team so predict that they'll win it 5-2.

Let's not forget that in the 5-0 we were without Liam Moore and a more respectable 2-0 down before Williams got sent off. And their 3rd was debatable IIRC?

All this talk of "it's a completely different game in the play-offs", "they were 6th for a reason", "the pressure will be on them" etc. just masks the fact that they are a damned good team, probably the best in the Championship in the last half of the season (no stats to back that up...)

"We have learned and improved since that 5-0" doesn't wash either. Only about a month ago we were hammered 7-1, and even after that, we were in danger of more humiliation at Forest. On our day, we are still capable of shipping shedloads.

So we'll play to keep it tight at the Cottage, come away with a plucky 1-1 draw, only for Fulham to win it at the Madejski. Our much hyped home record will come to naught in the face of a team that's beaten Newcastle, Huddersfield and Sheff Wed (among others) away from home with some ease in the last few months.

Well, that's what the "head" says, anyway.

Well I'm going to be loud on Tuesday night. I have been as quiet as a mouse all season. But on Tuesday night I will be roaring the team on to success. They will need my support if we are to overcome Fulham.
