Stay off the pitch!

by JR » 20 May 2017 17:01

Take note of what Millwall's Steve Morison just said in his post-match interview following his goal that secured promotion to the Championship - he was very angry at the Millwall fans who had invaded the pitch and just ruined the day!

Let's not let this become a play-off winners trend if we come out on top on Monday.

Don't think even our fan base are that mongy. Time and a place for a pitch invasion, and beyond England winning a World Cup final, Wembley isn't one of them.

Wembley is just not the place for a pitch invasion.

I think about 80% of the Millwall fans were fcked off and the 20% idiots thought it was appropriate.

Horrible horrible club. Imagine supporting them? It makes me really value what Reading are all about. They really are the wrong end of the scale.

Chelsea, West Ham, Leeds, Cardiff are all far far better clubs than them

That's unfair on Millwall. As a club they are great, significant number of idiot fans though. Hard to find a worse club than Leeds IMHO although there's a lot not to like about Chelsea.

Tbf, if we stay down it will be one of the few games south of Watford to go to next year, reasonably happy they came through.

Trust Millwall to be the first club's fans to invade the Wembley pitch.

Tbf oxf*rd off Steve Morison. Sorry YOUR day was ruined - you're compensated enough and if those who pay your wages want to celebrate in that manner then that's their call.

Cause they're Millwall clowns? Besides the point though.

We have clowns too.

What is the obsession with pouring onto the pitch after a game......nobody wants to see you, it's the players they want to see celebrate

If not a protest....then stay off

....and yes, I was on the pitch when we beat Darbii 5-0 to confirm the Championship title in '06......but then..... that was different

Can someone tell me how running on the pitch at the Madejski is fine, but running on the pitch at wembley isn't?

How does it ruin the day for Morrison but not say, Danny Williams?

It's either fine, or it's not. Frankly, if there was a exception, surely it would be allowed at the game where you actually win something? :|

It's not fine

(On the VERY OFF CHANCE that we win) do you want to see beered up blokes and their sheep-like followers waving their bellies and shirts at you....or the players doing a well-deserved lap of honour?

You're in the 'not fine' camp, which is fine. What I want to know is why the seem to be two rules in some peoples eyes?

Think that the pack-hound hysteria takes over tbf

The safety in numbers thing encourages others to be a "little bit naughty"

As for the two-rules.........."on the pitch at Wembley" is forever a no-no
On the pitch anywhere else should be exclusively for protests

If I had to put forward an argument why one is ok and the other isn't, I'd go with it being ok to do it on your own turf, but not on someone else's.

I have never really understood it to be honest but do think there is a time and a place for it. First and foremost when you've actually won something - I didn't go on the pitch after the Fulham game for example.

The problem with the Millwall fans today was that they went on there to confront the Bradford players/fans and to live up to the stereotype some of their fans relish.

I remember the pitch invasion after the forest game and the pictures of the fans with Leigertwood, etc - that's what it should be about, fans celebrating with the players.

But yeh, never at Wembley.
