May the best team win!

by Terrier83 » 20 May 2017 19:02

I'll be honest, this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to sign up to another teams forum, especially a team who stand in the way of something I have dreamed of since I was born almost 34 years ago!

I have to say though I find it refreshing to be playing against a club which seem to have genuinely decent fans. Make no mistake, should Town have not reached this final I would have been rooting for you. Up there most of the season, a great manager and written off much like ourselves.

I'm here to say all the best, may the best team win and if it's not us I will be more than content in the fact a thoroughly decent club beat us to the punch. Enjoy the day and I hope the game lives up to the hype...well amongst our fans anyway!

Ditto.

Except maybe that we've been there recently and it's a pretty shit experience for a fan so that adds to my general ambivalence about winning, so losing to your lot won't be so bad. :D

The proper days of proper football with everyone being friends.

Huddersfield Town v Reading

The nice final played between nice teams with nice fans, nice players and nice management

That's nice

To be fair they are the only team in the top 10 I haven't grown to dislike this season

Seem a decent club all round and good luck to them. May the best team win along with other such cliches

Whether the best team will actually get to win or not, it's not normally us....so it might as well be you.

Huddersfield will be my second favourite team on the day

Only if we're the best team otherwise may the worst team win.

Don't worry, even if we win will it be "false" victory and sky will ask to the EFL and FA to promote you instead.

After watching Huddersfield beat Brighton a few months ago and thinking at the time they were the best team in the division, for partisan reasons, I certainly wish we were facing Wednesday in the final.

Nevertheless, when Forestieri's penalty was saved I cheered :P

It was yet another one in the eye for "know nothing" pundits and bookmakers who seem to think Hudddersfield and Reading arrived here by accident, having shafted both Yorkshire and South West London's answer to Barcelona in the process; I note we are still 2nd favourites despite knocking out the team they felt only had to turn up to go through :|

So, yes, firmly in the camp of wanting it to be Huddersfield if it can't be us.

Very happy it will be HTAFC to be promoted if we lose the final. Such a good story & nothing to not like. Good luck.

Could this be known as the "Friendly Final"?

Right back at you Terrier.

I was desperate for you to pip Brighton into second a few months ago. More than happy to see you make it if we can't.

No chance of the best team winning as they lost in the semi....

This love in between both clubs (which luckily seems to be limited to internet mongs for now) is puke inducing.

I hope we stuff Huddersfield and they go back to being a yo yo club between league one and the championship where they belong.

Thanks Huddersfield fan. I love your fans, town and club. You are definitely the best club in the league and clear favourites for this game. We will be very lucky if we can beat you but it's unlikely.

Just continue the Huddersfield bumming, when I went up there for the 1-0 loss this season that was the best atmosphere I've heard from home support in quite a few years.
