Hardly forgotten !
Regularly mentioned on here as one of our best players, and one of the saddest footballing stories.
Highly recommend his book if you can find a copy.

Can't say I've seen his name mentioned on here of late, but I agree with your sentiments.

Last November, Black Footballers thread.
but always good to have his name put back on the board. would be nice to see an updated version of the book, hopefully life is treating him better these days.

To be honest I wasn't aware of his life post football. Just had a read and it sounds like he's had a sorry time of it. I wish him all the best. Great player

From Despair To Where?
Horsham Royal Burns era striker forced to retire early. Stocky bloke.

Sean Evers? Rumour has it Luton's insurers were just about to pay out on him when we came along with a cheeky £500,000 bid.

Wikipedia reckons he made 18 appearances for us which is 18 more than I remember.

Sean Evers was described as a 'box to box' player.

Got it.
I was thinking of Robert Fleck.

There was one guy who played for us around 93/94 to 97/98 I think, came in from Brighton as I remember. Black fella, played in midfield. Noel maybe? Neil perhaps?

EDIT: Found it, I was miles off...

This thread has descended into just listing people who have played for us.

I mean, Robert Fleck scored in the first ever game at the MadStad. Sean Evers cost a small fortune and was so shit it still makes me shake with anger. Lee Hodges played tonnes of games and bagged a couple in that brilliant win at Oxford back in the day.

Not players likely to be forgotten.

Unlike Zat Knight who I had admittedly forgotten.

There's an element of this...yes, there always is, but there are also some decent shouts.

Didn't we have some geezer called Goodenough in the early nineties?.....who probably wasn't.

I'm shocked that no-one has remembered not remembering Leo Roget yet.

I realised I'd forgotten about Paul Brooker yesterday, but that all came flooding back :-(

Kevin Lisbie - IIRC, joined on loan in the Pardew era then got injured and went back to Charlton.

I'm struggling to remember all Tommy Burns magnificent 7 - what a deadline day that was.

I forget the last one. An uninspiring bunch, although that lot would probably win the SPL these days.

Tony Whitter.

4 inglorious loan appearances in 1994.

One with a broken leg.

My pointless answer would be Steve Blatherwick.

The good(ish) one - Grant Brebner. Scored first MadStad goal.
