The Shame Your Block Thread

by notloyalenuffroyal » 29 May 2017 23:18

I was down right miffed with my fellow fans today.

I sang, my boy joined in, even my 8 year old daughter wearing 2 Kingsley stickers on her cheeks started a UUUURRRRZZZZ at some point....

And yet..... I was glared at, and surrounded by a small amount of rhythmic clapping.....

I backed the boys..... I made some noise..... and all I got was stony silence and glares......

Shame on you Block 221. I don't care that you paid more to sit on the padded seats.... I don't care that you wanted more leg room..... I don't care that you were p*ssed off having to queue in a weird snakey theme park ride manner...... I don't care if you couldn't afford the champagne bar and the pick and mix...... YOU BACK THE BOYS AND MAKE SOME NOISE.....

Danny Williams deserved to hear you sing his song. Chrissy Gunter Baby looked up and pleaded you to sing. John Swift....... well..... John Swift deserved to hear you give him some stick when he gave the ball away cheaply again.....

But nothing....

I alone sang "Oh Ali Al-Habsi" before every penalty and I don't give a monkey's ball crackers if you hated me!!!!!

I was loud..... I was proud.....

But block 221..... you let us down..... you missed the penalty...... you should go and have a good hard look at yourself in the mirror.... and tomorrow, when you read the Daily Mail and see those Huddersfield faces on the back pages..... know this.... you are not welcome!

There was a bit of a fuss in 105 at the start of the game and some blonde lady got escorted away.

It's what you get when you sell tickets to STH + 6 or however many the allowance was.

115 had one bloke who mistakenly thought he was conducting the whole stand but if I have to point to a culprit for atmosphere issues is was the bloke at the back of 114 (or was is 116?, the one to my right) banging the ceiling who had no sense of rhythm. Kept throwing everyone out of time.

"Daddy"?

It was bit sit down and be quiet in 115 for my liking. But tbf the team didn't really give anything to cheer.

We had a wannabe conductor or two in 105

I was in 211 but there was a guy to the right of there (possibly 210) who spent more time facing away from the match trying to conduct the crowd - ginger hair

It's good to try and get the crowd going but a Huddersfield corner in 85th min is not a time i want to sing. I joined in all the chants and songs though.

Also there was a Huddersfield fan in the box behind who celebrated loud and wild when they scored the winning penalty. Given he was in the Reading end, a bit of grace and humility would be nice.

Mainly because we didn't attack at all or ever look like scoring. We looked like we were in damage limitation mode from the off.

Shame.

Nothing to get behind.

Just explaining why you got uninterested daytrippers in the "singing section"

Daddy number 1 indeed. Full marks for effort, and I would have liked to have more of a vocal block too but I found him more offputting than helpful.

3 or 4 booted from 114 in the second half. Anyone know what they did?

Seems like people wanted to be in the singing section within contributing to it, meaning that it ceased to be a singing section at all...

Neither team deserved to win but you have to give it to Huddersfield purely due to their fans.
Reading fans were poor and didn't get behind the team.

Atmosphere was good in 109, too, given the general lack of action on the pitch.

When AAH saved the penalty, I thought I was going to explode. Mind you, when Liam Moore blasted his over, it got a bit quieter.

I was also in block 113 where it also kicked off. Bloke punched another bloke in the back of the head as he and his group a, refused to sit down and b, after the stewards and head of security made them sit down they (all adults) then decided to start on a family of 8 behind them, 3 of them being under the age of 10 and went for who I presume was the son who was around 15/16. Fair play to the bloke who defended the family.

Also saw it kick off outside walking towards the tube, two groups of lads fighting over a comment made 'the penalty takers just rolled over', police on horses eventually split them up. Stupid stupid stupid people.
