Well a lot more than the final, which was a particularly bad example.

In any case I don't see the outcomes as 1 for 1. A small increase in flair and ambition will result in a big increase in attacking quality.

33 players in the first team squad, that's too big - the loan signings were all pretty much a waste of space - ship them back and lose deadwood like Gravenberch and Weiser.

Williams will probably go and I wouldn't begrudge Gunter a move if somebody came in for him (I don't think he's best suited to Stam's game much as I like him) I don't think there's a place for Quinn either.

Long term injured like Rakels and Harriott need a good look at.

Strikers are fine. Kermorgant with Rackels, Mendes or Meite if we're playing two which we often aren't. Harriott will be back as a winger/forward hibrid too which is basically what Grabban was doing. Blackett is a decent cover CB and we've got Cooper for that task too so no need there, perhaps a loan if there's an injury.

If Williams stays, that's great, if not, we hopefully have Quinn back or failing that maybe a signing there to go along with Kelly, Swift, Evans and Van Den Berg (who can't all play at the same time anyway).

If they rock-up same as, all fit with a better option behind Obita, that'll do for me.

For me apart from a new striker I think we need an experienced midfield general. I think this has been our weakness this season and the partly to blame for our heavy losses. If we have some money I reckon we should get two quality players rather than a few cheaper ones

Do not know what Tammy Abraham's situation is at Chelsea, but if he is one of their multitude of loanees available, then I would bite their hands off. Would be lethal in a two with Kermie or as the lone striker.

Sanguine Finally, who'd be a Preston fan? League record for the last two seasons is W 31 D31 L 30 F 109 A 108.

That's an excellent set of stats!

Like the sound of that a lot. Speaking of Chelsea loanees, Sunderland apparently trying to get in Bertrand Traore on loan for next season. Yeah ok then guys..

I like the look of Ollie Watkins at Exeter City. He looks one for the future. The striker situation worries me. JK is getting any younger.

If Possible move on the following

Quinn
Gravenberch
Dennis
Weiser
Meite (Loan)
Harriot
Mendes (So what if he had a couple of good games)
Cooper

Replace 4 or 5 of better quality and we're away.

For me, given the good season and base we have this isn't time for a re-build. It's consolidating that base and strengthening upon it.

Last season required a rebuild. This year, a la Brighton etc, requires a continuation of the growth that we saw this year. I'd hope the majority of the first team remain the same.

Wouldn't be particularly upset if that lot left. Seen enough of Rakels and Mendes to think they are worth keeping for at least the glut of games at the start of the season and see if they can offer something when fully fit

Would also add Samuel to that list

Harriot and Meite have shown more than enough that they can be useful as impact wingers, Mendes could be useful in the squad.

I love Al-Habsi but our style of play is fairly dependent on having a keeper who is good with the ball at his feet. If we can find someone who's as good a shot stopper just with better distribution and more confident with the ball then yes, if not then there's no point and it's certainly not a priority position.

Nope, not good enough with his feet for our style of play.

Deffo keep Harriott and Mendes. Both unfortunate with injuries this season and have looked good when up to speed.

Give Meite a season in League One Imo.

Sell:

Cooper
Samuel
Quinn
Rakels
Gravenberch
Wieser
