New season fixtures

by Sutekh » 13 Jun 2017 08:30

New fixture list due on 21 June

So here's the annual thread about who you want on the opening day....

The 23 other sides we have the pleasure of working with in 2017/2018 are

  1. Aston Villa
  2. Barnsley
  3. Birmingham City
  4. Bolton Wanderers
  5. Brentford
  6. Bristol City
  7. Burton Albion
  8. Cardiff City
  9. Derby County
  10. Fulham
  11. Hull City
  12. Ipswich Town
  13. Leeds United
  14. Middlesbrough
  15. Millwall
  16. Norwich City
  17. Nottingham Forest
  18. Preston North End
  19. Queen's Park Rangers
  20. Sheffield United
  21. Sheffield Wednesday
  22. Sunderland
  23. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Personally I want anyone away from home, Middlesbrough or Sunderland would be good just to get rid of one of the horribly long treks out of the way early

Definitely want a home game last day of the season though

Personal reasons want (A) on day one I think, unless we get moved to the Sunday for telly? If it works like that anyone but Fulham would be fine

I predict we will get one of the teams listed, either at Home or Away

From memory, discussions over previous fixtures have suggested the police won't put local derbies on the important days of the season (first game, last game, Boxing Day etc) so it's unlikely to be any of QPR, Brentford or Fulham based on that.

any of the media favourites or pundits 17/2018 predictions please.

Aston Villa
Birmingham City *media in love with Harry
Derby County
Fulham
Hull City *newly relegated
Leeds United
Middlesbrough *newly relegated
Norwich City
Nottingham Forest
Sheffield Wednesday
Sunderland *newly relegated
Wolves

Second season under Stam we'll be harder to beat than last time out. Not many will want a trip to the Mad Stad so a home fixture please

No reason why it should be a loss - unless I'm due a whoosh.

Would be good though for another sunny Fulham sesh - with less on the line than the playoffs too.

Why do the football league fixtures come out a week later than the Premier League?
