He wouldn't have signed without assurances on finances/stability etc. He wouldn't stay if he didn't think he would be given enough to have a chance of going up.

Good news. Also is that Dai in the photo with him>?

The really worrying trend is the amount of cash the new owners are throwing around at crazy signings ... ehem, not.

Premiership clubs won't have decided who to release yet.

Snowflake Royal
AthleticoSpizz Novakovich loaned out to Dutch club SC Telstar

He needs some first team football, so good news, maybe.

Has signed a new 2 year contract. Looks like a make or break season for him.

Pointing out the blindingly obvious to those who spout the same tedious nonsense EVERY summer is a waste of bandwidth

Still not sure why people (particularly on twitter) are in a state of mourning at this news.

Firstly, he played well for the final three months, but the three and a half years that preceded this time were a bit underwhelming for me.

Secondly, it's been glaringly obvious he was going to leave for ages.

Lastly, he's hardly the sort of player that built up a really good rapport with the fans. Try and find details of him visiting a school, popping to a youngsters football training session or generally doing one good thing for someone other than Danny Williams - you can't.

The only notable things he did in his time at Reading was to have an immensely unprofessional set-to with our club camptain at Middlesbrough, and post stupid photos of himself on Instagram as if he is Justin Bieber.

I give it a month and he will be forgotten about.

I must admit I tend to sit on the underwhelmed at losing Danny Williams side of the fence... No doubt he was very good at the end of the season...

But where was he in the seasons before? Also for a central midfield player who drives forward his goal scoring record is not great. His control and pass decision making definitely suspect as well...

That said, I liked him for his energy and we need to replace that, but for me if we can find that energy in a better ball playing midfielder, i actually think it will gel the midfield a lot more and we will pose more of a threat... okay it's the million dollar question who do we replace him with, but given it was clear to everyone's he was going to leave you would think the club has players in mind who they think will fill the void.

On a light hearted note, I will miss watching him miss control the ball then haring off to get it back...

Interesting to ask how many on here think he will make an impact in the premier league... here he struggled when the team struggled and at Huddersfield you would have thought they are going to be fighting at the bottom end of the league next season? Even had we had gone up I am certain we would have looked to bring in a better player than DW in that's position...

regarding Williams, I don't think anyone is in a state of mourning are they? He did ok for the club in his time in general, and was outstanding at the end of last season, but he has done his time, and moved on with everyone's best wishes as far as i can see

In terms of him personally, I think its a little unfair. If you look at the pics in GR every week, it was always him posing with fans and signing autographs. Met him once randomly shopping in London, and he was a genuinely nice chap and happy to chat and pose for a photo for my kids.

Whether he is up to the Prem is anyone's guess. He always seemed to perform in big games, so you never know.

You just come on here making stuff up from your own mind in the vague hope that it catches on, don't you.

Stam wants to 'keep as many' players as possible

He said: “There was interest in players and that’s inevitable. But you want to expand and keep as many [players] as possible.”

However, he also said Sandro Wieser “can leave”.

"I want to keep as many players as possible. Apart from Wieser, he can fcuk off"
