It's interesting, it sounded like they were impressed with him when they called him back from his loan last season, perhaps he just didn't show what they expected of him.

Not what RFC have said though. Suspect it may be wishful thinking by Danny Cowley who has always been a bit of a bullshitter. Currently only on loan until January which would be similar to what happened to Dickie last season.

FiNeRaIn As people have said in the past, you can tell the organized clubs from who has their business out the way early in the summer and who isn't rushing to fill gaps as the start of the season approaces, at the moment we are heading towards that.

Spurs haven't brought in a single player. Pochettino is a believer in bringing player through the ranks. The clear out suggests Stam & Co are of a similar nature. To play the new Reading way. Individuals need to be coached from a younger age.

Agree with this. When Tevreden and Stam joined they made it clear that they would not just bring in players where it could block the path of youth players who are good enough. The fact that last year we brought in a large (by our standards) number of players and a lot of younger players who most expected to be involved last/this year, (Stacey, Fosu, Jules etc) suggests they have cleared house of the players they don't think can make the grade and have opened up the path for younger players they rate as being able to play a role in a side targeting promotion/play offs i.e. Smith, Loader etc. Any other signings will be targeted at where experience is needed - i.e. a new striker.

These players will look at the likes of Kelly and see if they perform they will get in the team and than can only be a good thing. Whether it will be effective remains to be seen.

This feels like the plan to me anyway, certainly don't buy into the chaos argument.

Can we assume Aluko is on his way to us? Previously Stam has stated he doesn't like talking about players unless they've signed. Stam, in a recent interview said ""If he was here, he would fit in. He would be interesting for us."

4 year contract for Liam Moore signed...

quite funny on some of the blog things on the press conference. Not sure if its just the reporting but Chron update was 'No new terms for Obita' and Stam supposedly said something like 'There was lots of interest in our players, but not Obita'

I reckon there probably is a contract on its way for him to be honest, but if not I'm guessing he is far from happy

I think these long deals for Swift and Moore are great news and show a determination to keep our talented young players motivated and feeling valued. I'm delighted not to have lost either of these two to ''better''champ clubs or lower league prem clubs this window. It also means, if they do continue to improve, we have a serious financial gain to be made if forced to sell.

I'm sure there's a good quality striker on his way in the next two weeks and a transfer record to be broken for the privilege. Feeling optimistic!

Moore commiting to a new contract is absolutely fantastic news. Probably our most important player.

Yeah..... if importance if measured by messing up our chances of going to the premier league by bottling a penalty. Then he is Huddersfield most important player.

Oh dear

Anyway surely bottling it would be not stepping up. He did and fair play to him for doing so, even it was a rubbish effort

What do you mean "our chances"? Fleetwood and Forest Green isn't it?

Good work DD.

Spend 99% of your time being walked on a leash by Kes and then when he goes, start impersonating him.

You're an absolute embarrassment.

Does anyone on here a) actually support Reading and b) go to games?
